Very original and your just waiting to see what Forrest will do next. But the best thing about thing movie is that even though it is very long and follows a number of events, everytime you watch it you realise something you didn't notice before. As equally funny as it is emotional Forrest Gump is nothing less than Oscar worthy and Tom Hanks was beyond amazing.

I was surprised a children's movie can also connect with adults in a mature way. Overall, Up is the best movie of this year. Up is all abut letting go of the past and leaving behind barden,in a simple but imaginitive way incorparating the elements of humour and innocence. This is a must see movie!

They say ?3rd times a charm? this was certainly not the case for the Godfather part III. After making two legendary films Francis Ford Coppola got it wrong with the 3rd Godfather sequel. This was partly due to the fact that he decided to cast his own daughter in the movie as one of the most important characters. Sophia Coppola was terrible as the daughter of Michael Corleone, and the movie become more of drama than a mafia movie. And where was Robert Duvall! I missed the killing and gruesomeness that made the first two Godfather?s so awesome and intriguing. It seemed like they ran out of good ideas and carelessly put together a storyline that would end the trilogy. Not the worst movie I?ve seen, but it cannot even compare to the 1st and 2nd Godfather. They should?ve come up with a better way to end the legacy of the Godfather, but like this ? it?s just a shame.

Other than Fight Club, this is probably Edward Norton?s best movie. American History X is a smart, merciless, distinctive story racism and white supremacy in America that show the callous truth about reality. Part black and white and part color, this movie shows the results of a boy who grew up with a racist father and how his death influenced his views as he grew older. He wasn?t born to hate, he was taught to and he later finds out he can change his ways. The best thing about this movie is probably the script; the use of language and the placement of swear words are very well done. Even though this ends in tragedy, this movie is one of my favourites.

Philadelphia shows us about the harsh reality of injustice towards homosexuals in a professional field. Tom Hanks delivers a heart breaking performance as a lawyer who has been infected with AIDS, then suddenly gets sacked from his firm. The struggle that Andy Beckett (Tom Hanks) goes through for his justice is just so brave and empowering. Denzel Washington also holds his own as the lawyer that Andy Beckett has hired to fight the case against the law firm. Even though at first he is a little uncomfortable and has second thoughts about helping a gay man with AIDS, he starts to understand about the homosexual lifestyle and that righteousness is for everyone regardless sexuality. This movie is a tear-jerker, but also a movie where you can learn a lot about prejudice and that ?love? is still love for anyone no matter what sexual orientation.

No Country for Old Men is probably the best movie in this decade so far. Joel & Ethan Coen have done a terrific job adapting this film from Cormac McCarthy?s 2005 novel and the Coen brothers yet again used their creative juices combining adrenaline pumping violence and dark humour. Set in the 80?s in Texas, this movie is a combination of a horror, chase, action, western and it?s funny as hell in a disturbing way. Anton Chigurh (Sugar, hehe) play by Javier Bardem is probably now one of the most haunting villains to be on film, with his rigid stare and world?s worst haircut made for a sadistic killer. This is good for anyone who has been a fan of the Coen brother's past achievements, and of course for anyone that has a good taste in movie!

After the hype and anticipation of the first ?Twilight? movie, ?New Moon? failed solemnly to meet the standards of a second-rate film. The story follows Edward and Bella and they deception of true love, with a melodramatic script and a sequence of randomly chosen events clustered together. Robert Pattinson lacked emotional range and it wouldn?t be much different if ?Edward Cullen? was played by a robot. This movie had all of the clichés of a teen movie: emotionally and hormonally confused teens that would die for true love. For a 2 hour plus movie, ?New Moon? seemed like it went for a lifetime, it was so boring and hard to follow. I can?t believe some teenage girls are so credulous and it amuses me how they find it so interesting and romantic, because I couldn?t find any depth or significance in the movie. I feel sorry for those for harmless trees which were cut down and used to make the awful book. I hope they don?t make another sequel, if they do that?s how you?ll now an apocalypse is near!
