THIS ENTRY IS NOT FINISHED WHICH IS WHY IT HAS NOT BEEN SENT OUT TO PEOPLE YET
Whether one considers videogames art or not (yes, I'm talking to you Roger Ebert!), I love them. Plus, they make millions of dollars every year. These are my all time favorite videogames I've ever played. There isn't any big explanation for each game as this is meant to be just a list.
BEST GAME EVER
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
GameCube, Wii
2006
Twilight Princess came along and provided us with a darker, more mature Zelda game. Great decision on Nintendo's part. Twilight Princess deeply amerces you into its world and never lets you go. The graphics were developed for a Gamecube game but were astounding even in the new generation. The great storylines and character development add on along hours of side quests and stories that's already part of an almost 20 hour game. This truly is a masterpiece.
BEST GAMES
(not in order)
Donkey Kong Country
Super Nintendo
1994
This is the game that I consider as the best on the Super Nintendo. Donkey Kong's first game (excluding the arcade games) brings him and his companion chimp Diddy Kong into the spotlight in a 2D platformer that exceeded the system's graphic abilities! The game, followed by two sequels (great sequels, but not living up to the original), introduced us to the big ape
Pikmin 2
Gamecube
2004
Pikmin 2 released two years after the unexpected hit strategy game and greatly improved on it. Everything that was in Pikmin was made better in Pikmin 2. Two captains, new pikmin, new maps, new enemies, new bosses, and unlimited completion time make an amazing new game.
Dead Space
360, PS3, PC
2008
I'll go a head and say it, Dead Space made me hesitate to in to dark rooms for a while. It's the first game that actually scared me. Even though removing a visible HUD is a dangerous move, it works in Dead Space. You are completely immersed in to its beautiful (but gut-wrenchingly gross) world. I can't wait to get scared all over again come January when Dead Space 2 emerges.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Gamecube
2001
Taking a gigantic step from its predescor, Melee features over 20 characters, stages, and items to give you hours of playtime. I've logged in days of playtime on my disc and it's still a blast. Unfortunately, 2008's "Brawl" takes a step down.
Super Mario Galaxy+ Super Mario Galaxy 2
Wii
2007
After Mario 64, Nintendo had a misstep with Mario Sunshine. But all it took was a few lessons learned to become almost as big as Mario 64. Both Galaxy games are counted, as they are essentially the same game and equally as great.
Bioshock
360, PS3, PC
Bioshock surprised everyone with its advanced storytelling, great visuals, and a deeply immersive world. The underwater city of Rapture is spectacular and pulls in. But the real star of the game is the Big Daddy protecting the eerie Little Sisters. Once one of these guys has you in his sights, it's over.
Left 4 Dead
360, PC
2008
This is the first game where I played multiplayer for 5 hours straight. It hooks you in. With no story whatsoever, Left 4 Dead drops you into its realm and doesn't let you out. It’s what I consider the greatest multiplayer experience I've had. Unfortunately, a very pointless sequel was made that was good, not great.
