A true Russ Meyer camp classic from 1965.
In the wonderful wacky world of Russ Meyer films, big busted women star for the single purpose of getting undressed.
Faster Pussycat is an exception containing no nudity, but foxy Go Go dancers burning rubber in their sports cars, out to find a bundle of hidden cash.
Three Go Go dancers head out to the desert, bump into a young yuppie couple and challenge them to a drag race. The leader, Tura Satana has a bad attitude towards cowards and men. Killing off the driver in the process of the drag race, the girls kidnap and drug the guys teeny bopper girlfriend.
The girls drive to a near by ranch hoping for food and shelter for the night. The ranch is owned by a foul mouthed elder man confined to a wheel chair. His son he calls "Vegetable", and is mentally challenged. The "Vegetable" was so big, his mother died giving birth, explains the elder man.
The girls explain that the teeny bopper girl traveling with them is medicated, to avoid her from running away, and is to be returned to her politician parent's. Her parents didn't want the bad publicity, and were asked to keep the whole thing quiet, and out of the media.
Soon the girls find out a hidden treasure of cash is on the estate, and make it their main goal by any means necessary.
Everything in this flick is good. The acting is good, the black and white photography and editing is stunning, and the films pace is exciting. The cars are great and the women are hard ass-ed bombshells.
Russ was a Korean war photographer veteran, and had an exceptional eye for detail and unique storytelling, unlike any director I have ever seen. Russ Meyer films are a trademark in style and originality all together. Russ utilized unusual camera angles and exciting editing techniques during his entire carrer. His film style was loved by his fans, and made him the millionaire he deserved to be.
The Soundtrack is great as well, and suits the films pace perfectly.
Highly regarded by director John Waters as the best film ever made.
I'm can say with certainty that Faster Pussycat Kill Kill!!! inspired tons of music video directors, and the Spice Girls "Girl Power" image.
If you find Russ Meyer films offensive and sexually degrading against women, look elsewhere. I have always loved his cartoonish way of film making and storytelling. I look at Faster Pussycat Kill Kill!!!, as a story of powerful strong women.
As Russ said in an interview I saw years ago: "I have a breast obsession. You can see the flames in my eyes when I see the female breast. I make films for the man on the street."
A great double bill with any of the Russ Meyer films: Super-vixens, Up!, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Vixen ... you name it.
R.I.P. Russ

GOOD REVIEW!!!!!DEATH PROOF sounds like a rip=off of this; I've never seen it, I just like "putting-up" the stills and posters to my slideshows when I run across them.Just as with the Italian Soundtracks (namely VAMOS A MATAR CAMPENEROS and SOLAMENTE NERO--the music is Out-of-this-world but the movies themselves are only so-so to good in quality--the posters and stills of the films I enjoy thinking about are better than the actual films themselves.

Yeah, Death proof does pay homage to this one and to stuff like "Eat my Dust" and "Vanishing Point". Tons of stuff and pics are saved in my computer of films I'll probably never ever get the chance to see. Thank you for the positive feedback hombre.

I was really disappointed when I finally got my hands on Vampyros Lesbos. The soundtrack was excellent, but the film was awful and boring.

I've been wanting to see this film for years. I watched Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls a few months ago and was blown away. A script with everything except the kitchen sink, epileptic editing, genre hopping, above average acting, good music and possibly the most beautiful cast I have ever seen. Brilliant.
