Be ready for the comments to come. It may not be pleasant.
I never saw any Hitch film get a rotten, especially one with Stewart in it.
But you gave a detailed reasoning for your rating and that's more than many do. I once saw a review with one word.
The poor guy got hit with 30 ocmments.
As for myself, I stick my neck out for no movie.

This is more a thriller than a scary movie. There is a difference. Since the focus of the story was on Stewart, I really don't see why we have to know why the killer did it. Oh and Psycho was made 6 years after Rear Window. There are many people who don't like classic movies, but that doesn't make them not classic. I love this movie, you don't. I am sure that many people in our generation like this movie and there are others who don't like it. If you use your criteria on whether a movie is class

"There are many people who don't like classic movies, but that doesn't make them not classic".
That's true,unless MOST people don't like them.

One dimensional characters? That really is a load of crap. Sorry but it is.
Only the villian is.Well,Grace Kelly's character is close, but that's only because Hitchcock was rumored to be a sexist.

I have to agree with you. My brother Netflix'd this movie and upon seeing that he had it, I went on RT to find out whether or not it was worth watching. I saw that it had a 100% approval rating and got excited thinking it was going to be one of the best movies I'd ever seen. Boy was I disappointed.
The main problem with this movie is that you're told towards the beginning of the movie that James Stewart's character thinks this guy had murdered his wife, so basically they waste an hour building

This review disappoints me, and surprisingly it isn't even because you disliked the movie. It is primarily because you missed the point of the movie entirely and if you are willing to give it a bad review because it wasn't scary I suggest you watch this on again. Is it particularly scary no, and it was more of a thriller/suspense flick with most of the suspense very subtle. You talk about the climax, but this movie follows a story arc to the T and is a perfect example of how a movie should be ma

If after reading the review all you took was the "It wasn't scary" art,you missed the point of my rating.

YES THE MUSIC WAS BAD, BUT...
the reason certian characters are one-demensianal, is beacause it is showing sTEWARTS PINT OF VIEW ONLY. so...
They are supose to be, as a real person would feel in his own position, just make-up what you think they are like. As far as the scaryness goes, yes, it wasnt very scary, but I didnt find Pyscho scary either, with all the crap coming out now, its hard to find these scary.

A lot of people have mention that the movie is James Stewart's point of view. The thing is aside from Horror and Suspense, this is a Mystery movie, and the only rule is that the mystery has to get solved. The mystery was solved but with no details.
