I has it's moments but one cannot help but feel Pixars talent for appealing to all audiences is absent from this film. The films feels like it was made for a very young age group and makes it feel childish and immature, the characters themselves talking cars with windscreens split into for large eyes which further add to the "underage" feel of the movie. Moments, for example when lightning salvages the old champion in turn forfeiting the race, show the old magic of pixar is still there and the movie has other incidences which redeem it.
It seems unlike toy story or a bugs life, cars despite it's charms at times, fails to hold onto the Pixar magic of captivating all audiences of all shapes and sizes. Owing to the childish and immature tone of the movie, the film is by far the worst pixar movie but by no means dose that mean it's bad. Let's hope the dreaded squeal can overcome it's predecessors flaws to avoid being the "Shrek 3" of pixar, but i wouldn't hold my breath.
