A sensitive portrayal of breakdown, recovery and moving on in life. Cooper and Lawrence shine as two people who after having undergone rough life experiences try to get back on their feet and start leading meaningful lives again. The supporting cast in the form of De Niro et al is also doing a very good job. At times the film may be predictable, but that doesn't matter as the viewer is captivated by the characters' struggles and their efforts to sort themselves and their life out.

A let down, a real let down of a film - there is no other way to describe this. The film is way too clinical to be palatable or indeed enjoyable. Those interested in the military operation in Bin Laden's layer may be better served by reading the book authored by one of the Seal team members. If you expect a piece of intelligent, gripping film-making in the company of The Hurt Locker or Siriana you may have to look elsewhere.

A pleasant surprise of a film; at times it becomes a bit video-gamey, but overall it manages to captivate the viewer with the excellent performances of Urban and Thirlby...

A very good action film. Intense action sequences, excellent performances by Washington, Reynolds, Gleeson, Shepard and last but not least the guy from Jalla Jalla Fares Fares. The end of the story needed a bit of a rethink as the exposure of security agencies all over the world on corruption charges was way too naive...

A thoughtful and engaging ending to the sage of Batman and Gothan City. Discounting the improbable, if not impossible, ending, a brilliant movie. As per Nolan's other films, we get multilayered characters who face their own demons as they attempt to save or destroy Gothan City. Anne Hathaway is marvellous, Tom Hardy as Bain is superb, Gary Oldman is fantastic - but I think the prize goes to Levitt for his depiction of his aspiring but later disillusioned cop...

A film with excellent performances by Rapace, Elba, Fassbender, Theron and the rest, but somehow much less interesting story or scary than Alien...

Much better than all the other Marvel superhero movies put together! Excellent action sequences, very good capturing of group dynamics and character traits make this film a keeper. Not to mention of course the little titbit included after the end credits that can only bode well for the sequel...

A pleasant surprise of a film detailing the travails of a woman trying to get back on her feet after a failed relationship and the unraveling of her business venture. The preparations for her best friend's wedding, the typical competition with other bridesmaids and the bittersweet hilarity that ensues form the jumping board from which the viewer is invited to explore what went wrong with the main character in the past. Wiig does an excellent job in the portrayal of the down-but-not-out pastry chef; O'Dowd is also very good in his portrayal of the emotionally available policeman. I also liked the character Megan played by Melissa McCarthy very much.

Some interesting elements in this film related to the theme of father-son relationship, but these are never fully explored. The cast tries to compensate for a very weak plot, but fails as there is only so much that can be done with such material. The CGI effects are impressive, but they cannot carry the film by themselves. Overall I'd give it a miss...

A delicate and bittersweet drama-comedy. A sensitive and occasionallly moving take on love, loss, bereavement and coping with terminal illness.
