So. Fairy Tale films are the new "it" in Hollywood. Personally I don't mind. I love fairy tales. I love Disney, Grimm Brothers, Hans Anderson. Great. But what really worrries me is the rendition of "modern" or "adaptations" that Hollywood wants to make.
'Red Riding Hood' directed by Catherine Hardwicke looks like a hot, steamy, horror version of the original fairy tale. That ruined it for me. WHY does Red need a hot dude? She doesn't. That ruins the story for me. Just UGH
'Beastly' actually looks good. I might see it. I always like the Beauty and the Beast story, so seeing this modern rendition might work. But you never know. Trailers are often deceiving right?
Pretty soon, we will be getting a Snow White film. If it keeps to the original story, it will be good. God knows we don't need another 'Sydney White'. Then depending on the actress. If Kristen Stewart, as rumored, plays her....well....I love Kristen but she should take a break for a while right? Maybe another good actress.
Well, that's my blog for now. 'Tangled', the latest Disney take on the Rapunzel tale, will hit shelves on March 29th! In America! Now I'm done for good.
