The 2nd Bobannual Bobwards
I've made it to year two for the Bobannual Bobwards! Isn't that amazing? But lets not dawdle I'll chime in later, lets just get on with the show. Best Motion Picture Batman Begins I know there was better movies this year that should be here, but Batman is my favorite superhero and its been awhile sence hes had a decent movie. Best Actress Emma Watson She was really great in Goblet of Fire and she just keeps on getting better with each Harry Poter Film. Best Supporting Actress Jewel Staite She is the reason I even started to watch Firefly, shes was one of my favorite actresses growing up, and continues to be even now. Best Actor Min-sik Choi Oldboy is one of those movies that probably should of won for best Motion Picture. But I'm instead going to acknowledge it here for having a great actor. Best Supporting Actor Cillian Murphy He is just such a cool actor and I had no idea who to put here, so I just pick someone. Best Animated Film Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit This was such a fun movie, I hope everyone gets a chance to watch it. Best Video Game Mario Kart DS My review should say enough about this game, I just really loved this game. Best Horror Movie Land of the Dead As my friend ThirdMan pointed out to me, there wasn't alot going for horror movies this year, but I'm still going to give out this award. Best New Television Show Surface A very interesting new show, its keeping me hooked. Everybody Hates Chris is also a great show if your looking for some on the other end of the spectrum. Best New Animated Show Boondocks This would of went to one of the new animes I've been watching. But the more I think about it. I just can't wait to watch this show every weekend. Best Um Best Award ThirdMan He is one of my bestest of friends, and seeing as even after a year I have yet to find a use for this award I'll give it to him. Worst Motion Picture Elektra So bad, I just don't know why I gave it a 5, its so much worse then that. Worst Animated Film Corpse Bride Even though this did get a fresh it was the worst animated film I've seen all year. Worst Actors/Actresses? Yea I was going to do this but it seemed I was picking people more for there characters then there acting. Except for Hayden Christensen and Franky G, I really didn't like them. Epilogue A few things I'd like to talk about dealing with the future of these awards and journal. It seems that I haven't seen too many movies from 2005, I'd like to change that with 2006, I'd like to see atleast double the movies, whether in theaters or on video. I hope that during the next Bobannual Bobwards that I'll have a cornucopia of movies from 2006 to choose from, especially a lot more bad films. |

Wow I've loved Mario Kart sense Super Mario Kart, that was just a really fun game to play with your friends or even family. It had a really low learning curve so anyone could just pick up and play, but there was still strategic value in holding your weapons, of finding that nice short cut. Jump some years further to Double Dash (Note: Even though I own a N64 I never got to play Mario Kart 64.) and I'm absolutely in love again. The new mechanics enhance the game even further and its another great game for friends and family. Now as a Christmas present from my friend ThirdMan I now own Mario Kart DS.
This is hands down one of the funnest games I have played, and I haven't even got to go online with this yet, I'm so hoping I'll get to soon though. This game takes some of the greats parts of other Mario Kart games and mixes them together to give you the best possible experience. Not only do you get 16 totally new tracks to the series, you also get 16 of your favorite tracks from past Mario Karts. I was so happy to seen some of the old tracks from Super Mario Kart in this game for nostalgiaalone. Although I would have like to have seen the ghost track from Super Mario Kart, can't remember its name now though. One of the first things I must mention is the use of the dual screens. It may seem like the second screen is just being used for a map but oh its so much more. Theres a lot of useful information down there that can be really helpfully when your actually able to look down there. Now I didn't get many chances to look down there, cause my eyes like to stay glued to the top, but in strait aways I'll take a quick glance to see who's behind me, plus how far away they are. I can also check to see what items they are holding, and what items that are on the ground that could harm my racer. Theres a lot of information down there, but not so much so that I can't get everything in one glance. The battle mode comes back, and its just as fun as ever, having to inflate your own balloons is crazy, but really fun at the same time. Collecting the shines is a bit easier but also really fun and easy to get the hang of. The Mission mode is a very fun new addition to the Kart series I really hope it continues. If I ever started to get frustrated with a Grand Prix match I could just do one of these missions. Not only are they different and end with a cool boss battle but they help you get a lot of practice it. This is (without trying the Wi-Fi yet.) the best feature added to the game, I love this mode to death. Another thing I'd like to talk about is the drivers. While still having the same returning cast of characters they also adding three new ones, with one being my favorite Mario character of all time. Dry Bones! I love the way this guy looks and hes Kart that is also made out of bones looks really cool too. I was so happy to see him when looking at the previews for this games. I hope if theres another Double Dash game that he'll be in it, cause I'd love to team him up with King Boo. I love the ghost in all the Mario games also. In fact, I think my favorite levels in Mario games are the Haunted Houses and Castles just cause of the awesome enemies. Anyway before I start to ramble and rant for longer, I think if you own a DS you better own this game, theres no reason not to. And if you don't own a DS, once your able to get one you should, its a great system, even if its not graphically superior to other hand held systems. (Note: Yea thats a jab at the PSP, but honestly if I was able to get a PSP I'd buy it in a heartbeat.) |

Those are my current dogs, if you weren't sure.
Wow has this review been coming, I've had Nintendogs sense it first came out, giving to me by a friend. I am truly thankful for this game, I absolutely love it, but I wanted to give it time to set in. I wanted to make sure my first experience with this game didn't cloud my judgment. I mean sure a lot of people liked this game when it first came out, but how many are still playing it? This is one of the most open ended games you'll see, but thats not because you can do everything you want, just anything that the game lets you do. This is just a very interactive Tamagotchi, but that is what makes it great. If this was the only game on the Nintendo DS then Nintendo has done there job. This game shows us what games are missing, and what they have always been missing. Nintendogs fully uses the functionality of the DS. You have the touch screen for petting, washing, playing, walking, just about anything you can do with a normal dog. You can also use the built in mic to call your dog, and bark out tricks to make him do. This also uses the dual screens nicely, maybe not as much as other games, but its nice being able to still see your dogs while your going through menus. Plus the agility trials would be a nightmare without the layout on the top screen. This game shows you how much you can be involved with a game with out having to press a single button. Sure the touchscreen is just one big button, but when you can actually pet your on screen dog instead of having to hold do A and rotate the analog stick, it just makes it all just so much better. Games today aren't as interactive as they could be. Which makes me wonder why politicians care so much, but what ever. This game is perfect at what it was meant to do. It used the craze of early Tamagotchi, mixed with Nintendo ingenuity, and adding man's best friend. This was meant to sell a system, and a new way of thinking. This game was meant to show us what we are missing. Games are great, but they can be better, this isn't a gimmick this is a new way of gaming. This idea of gaming may not be used fully or correctly for years to came, but in the future we will see more games like this. |

Its hard reviewing older games when they're usually better examples of games now a days. I'm not saying those games where bad for there time, just that comparing them to games of this time they sometimes can't match up. But lucky for everyone that isn't how I review games, at least I don't think I've reviewed a game that way.
Anyway, my friend ThirdMan was the one who had the genesis and General Chaos. He wanted to show it to me, and sense it was a two player game, I could play along with him. This game is fun, it may not be really strategic, but being a little army guy and running around shooting other guys is really fun. There is different types of weapons you can have, so if running and gunning is your way the machine gun is you. But if you like to see things explode you might like the grenades or bazooka. The only thing I dislike about this game, and thats why it was droped so many pegs was the replay value. After you was done with what I assume is the game, basically making your way across a map, you get to make your way across another map if you chose to continue to play. |

Wow, wow, wow, and wow. AKI has never failed me, although I haven't played all of there wrestling games, the ones I did play I loved. Even with AKI being with EA, which we all know is an all consuming devil like google and microsoft. AKI is still pulling out awesome games.
I've only played abit of the first Def Jam and all I can is that I do like this one better. The first Def Jam seemed to take a decent bit from the Wrestlemania 2000 engine which has be use for other games. I just say Wrestlemania 2000 because its the first game I played that used it. But Def Jam: Fight for New York trys abit harder to be its own game, and have its own wrestling engine, which I absolutely love. Now the last wrestling game I played was Smackdown: Here comes the pain. I just got fed up with playing the same game and not getting the moves I liked to use. Maybe I should of gave the most recent samckdown a chance, but I just didn't feel like it. I'm not really one to rent games, so that would of been an option if I did rent games. Anyway now that that is out of the way, Fight for New York is one of the funest wrestling games I have ever played. Now I don't really know all the artist featured in this game, but the way the story mode is set up I don't really need to know them. The story mode is nice, but the real fun part is the venues I get to fight in. None but one I think are the traditional wrestling ring. Thats fine with me. All the interactivity in the different venues is really fun, and almost always a surprise when something new happened. My favorite was when I grappled someone near a fluorescent light, my guy took the light out and smashed it over the other guys head. So awesome. This is a buy, and theres no reason not to have it in your collection at its new low price. I hope another one is made soon, I would love if this could pull in people from different record labels, and have some rivalries between music genres. |

I don't usually do this. Not only does it mess up my post count, but it also messes up the way my categories are done. I guess the category thing isn't that bad seeing as they got the same score. The reason I chose to review these games like this, is not only because a friend thought it would be cool, but because it seems like the best way to review these games.
Both of these games are highly enjoyable, and each tries to appeal to the casual player in different ways. Guild Wars changes around the idea of MMORPGs, although Guild Wars isn't really an MMORPG with the way it plays, it still feels like it on many levels. World of Warcraft though takes the common MMORPG formula and makes it casual friendly. The game that I think is more casual friendly though would have to be Guild Wars. Everything in this game is easy to do, which might turn off some hardcore gamers, but I'm not a hardcore gamer so I don't care. But don't get me wrong, World of Warcraft is also easy to pick up and play. It may not be as easy as Guild Wars but it is still very fun. In comparing these games I'd like to talk about the character creation, and art directing of both. World of Warcraft obviously excels in both. While Guild Wars is still beautiful, it really can't compare to the already well know designs of Warcraft characters. Last thing I'd like to talk about, which was my deciding factor in which game I liked more. Even with both being targeted at the casual gamer in some way. Only one is truly targeted at the budget gamer. Not only is Guild Wars free to play online, but its minimum specs allow for it to run smooth even with multiple people in the towns. World of Warcraft, even at its lowest settings will lag trying to run through towns, or even trying to fly on a zeppelin or bat. But if you did have the money, a few hundred dollar upgrade would help. In the end I think Guild Wars is the better buy for anyone just starting online rpgs, or ones that left because they didn't like online rpgs. World of Warcraft would also be a very good buy, if your already into MMORPGS, and your looking for something better. |

Possibly one of the best games I have ever played. Knights takes the traditional turn based rpg game play, and makes it seem like its not even there. This makes the battling exciting, but still strategic. I think being at the price it now is, if you haven't played it yet, you should go out and get it, this is a very fun game.

This is such a fun game. I really liked the first one, and this is basically the same, but twisted. No really, you have to move the gameboy from side to side in order to play most of the games. Some games involve hitting just the A button, or even rotating and hitting the A button. It may sound simple, which it is, but with little to no instructions, multiple games, and fast paced game play, WarioWare really keeps you on your toes. This is a fun game if you need something to kill a little bit on time fast, or a lot bit of time really fast.
