Fantastic adaptation of one of Shakespeare's least accessible plays, pared down to its bones, beautiful, fierce language intact. Assured directorial debut from Fiennes ably supported by his Barry Ackroyd's camera work. Exceptional cast down to a man (and woman). Redgrave's Volumnia is a lock for Academy nomination. Brian Cox SHOULD be (but will probably be overlooked-hey, I'm a realist). Gerard Butler's performance as Aufidius was a match for Fiennes as Coriolanus and (again) SHOULD silence his critics and prove he can act. Loved the martial, percussive score too. Will definitely see it again!
