A wodnerfully animated film with it's lushful colours and unique style. I have seen this film around 7 times now. I first watched it probably at the age of 4 or 5 and I recently saw this in Blu-Ray. It was unbelivably remastered. The colours where so vibrant it looked like it just came out this year. IF you have a blu-ray player this one is worth taking a look at.
Sleeping Beauty is a famous story that could be said in 4 paragraphs but this film shows alot of character and emotion. Even though this is the third disney princess film Princess Aurora isn't as innocent as Snow White or Cinderella. Innocent yes, but still different. I can't really explain but put it this way. On her birth a powerful witch named Maleficent bestowed a curse on her. The curse was that on her 16th birthday she would prick her finger on a spindle and die. However, the three good fairies where in the middle of giving her thre gifts. One was left to give the girl a gift and they decided that it should be while she lies lifeless she is only in sleep until true loves kiss breaks the spell.
Maleficent I must say is Disney's most frightening villan. All the villans have their distinction. Jafaar from Aladdin is a sinister twisted man, the witch from snow white is a jealous step mother but Melifecent is pure evil. Her prescence is so evil she intimadates you. Her laugh is even more scary than the witche's from snow white.
Overall the film is filled with vibrant characters and beautiful animation. The story is great, although some kids will be scared like hell with Maleficent. The film has a great finale and is an animated classic in my eyes.
