"I stuck my neck out for nobody."
Well, this universaly admired masterpiece is directed by the most complete movie director ever,Michael Curtiz.
Wow,what else to say?.This movie was released in the the raise period of the noir film, that's the why of this movie being so passionate and dark at the same time.
I really like the mystery going on in this movie, who's (really)Rick? and why he's so attached to Casablanca? i mean, that is the worst possible location for him to be,but don't know why he really likes "living" there. The movie looks somehow, related to the german expressionism, maybe because those beautiful shadows inside Rick's Caffe.
This movie features too one of the best anti-hero characters ever, and one of the greatest movie songs ever(My favorite):As Time Goes By.
Some other facts to highlight are some peculiar scenes:Renault exchanging sex for favors is definitely one of them, the other is one of the most powerful scenes in cinema's history:The Mighty Marsellesa scene, which is the strongest of the movie.
Ending(Spoiler):The ending is definitely a top 10 one,it's a sad heartbreaking ending.I mean, she loves Rick, but now he has become nearly a villain, and Lazslo is a hero, but not the man of her life. So,no matter with whom she decides to go,he will always be the wrong man. That's a glorious part of the movie,a perfect ending for a perfect movie about a platonic love.
Actings:Well,my all time favorite actor(Bogart) is as great as always(this movie made of him the highest paid actor of his time and the greatest actor for the rest of his life),Conrad Veibts did an awasome villain, and this movie features the greatest performance ever by Ingrid Bergman(fuck Notorious!)but i think that Claude Rains' performance was the strongest of the movie...he's just epic!
The Oscar:Well, they nailed this time at choosing the best movie of the year, but three oscars? really? it totaly deserved all of it's nominations!WTFFFFFFFF!
A flaw:Ok,i know the effects like planes or in-car
backgrounds looks really cheesy, but that's not a flaw...here's the flaw:Dooley Wilson faileed at playing the piano! he's so fake!
Did you know?:The landing position of the escaping plane is just a miniature, and in order to make it look larger, midgets were walking around...ROFL!

Famous(Most) Quote:"Here's looking at you kid!"(the second time)
"Mr. Bob-san, you are relaxing in your study. On the table is a bottle of Suntory whiskey. Got it? Look slowly, with feeling, at the camera, and say it gently - say it as if you were speaking to an old friend. Just like Bogie in Casablanca, "Here's looking at you, kid" - Suntory time."(Lost in Translation-2003)
"You remember "Casablanca", right?"(Men in Black-1997)"
Rick:"How can you close me up? On what Grounds?"
Renault:"I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!"
Rick's employee(to Renault):"Here are your winnings,sir."
Renault:"Thank you..." Funiest scene of the movie!
