Austin Powers is one of the funniest and most well made spoofs I've ever watched. It's not as good as many of master spoofer Mel Brooks's films, but it's good all in the same.
Mike Myers plays Austin Powers, and English spy and "swinger, baby!". The plot follows Powers as he attempts to stop Dr. Evil (also played by Myers) and his plan to destroy the world with a stolen nuclear bomb. The film spoofs James Bond frequently, and does it quite well. Dr. Evil's plot is a hilarious play on that of Thunderball and his appearence is very similar to that of Blofeld in You Only Live Twice, right down to the cat. Evil's henchmen also echo some classic Bond baddies, including the likes of Oddjob, Red Grant and Emilio Largo. Bond isn't where it stops, though, as Austin and company parody the likes of Pink Panther and Harry Palmer to go with 007.
Funny as heck and infinitely quotable, Austin Powers is a fun and entertaining spy adventure that will get more than its fair share of chuckles.
