The Fountain is a richly heartfelt and beautifully imagined film that holds the performance of Hugh Jackman's career.

With the help of its wonderful art direction, its story menages to pull you deep inside its routs, until your lost deep within its elaborate and poetic center. Its without a doubt a beautiful place. Its a Place were all audiences would love to get lost. But while most may find a way to lose themselves, others will just site there confused.

The Fountain is yet another artful and beautifully made film directed by the genius Darren Aronofsky.

I have yet to see this, and its strange that I haven't. I'm especially interested in seeing how Aronofsky fared having his budget yanked halfway through, among other production disasters.

Things We Lost in the Fire (2007)
    Genre:
    Drama

Things We Lost In The Fire is a very simple but impressively acted film that holds a big strong heart at its center.

The films Characters wonderfully manage to build the connections they need to make this type of film effective.A film about love, lose and addiction. They generate performances within their simple world that feel deep and seamlessly real. You really end up caring for these characters.

At the end of the day thats all you really need.Things We Lost In The Fire may take you on a sad, simple and at times depressing rout, but its ultimately a trip worth taking.Even if you shed a few tears along the way.

I usually avoid sappy tragedies unless they are broadly hailed as masterpieces. Perhaps I'll check this out one of these days.

Stranger than fiction is a very smart film.

It impressively keeps its intelligent rhythm clicking throughout, while offering us a very fun story.

Some may find it to be a tad slow and maybe even a little boring, but if its unique story menages to catch your interest, your in for a very entertaining time that shows us a thoughtful side of Ferrel that we have never really seen before.

The film holds an interesting subject, but unfortunately still manages to come out over stylized, uninteresting and a bit shallow.

Wonderland is one of those films that has the right intentions but just doesn't capitalize on them. You can tell the film tries to give us interesting and compelling characters, but they just feel empty. You know the film wants us to be absorbed by its true life story, but the film just doesn't tell it well enough. We can feel that the film tried to offer us a cool style but that to ends up being a disappointment.

Wonderland does offer some nice performances, there just nearly not enough to save this film from its many flaws.

    Ponyo is a magical treat.

If you dont get completely absorbed by its seemingly endless charm, its beautifully hand drawn animation will no doubt act as a fall back that will dazzle and amaze.Even while its not Miyazaki's best work,Ponyo is still manages to be a beautifully animated film, that no doubt offers a wonderful tale to get yourself lost in.

This is actually one of my favorites from Miyazaki. Which is another way of saying one of my all time favorite films. Frankly, I found it criminal that it wasn't nominated for Best Animated Feature (and Best Original Score). Honestly it is better than Up. It should have been nominated for Best Picture as well, but knowing how biased the Academy is only one animated film could ever be nominated (and tragically, I never got the slightest hint that they considered giving it the award). It's a sh

Splice in an effective science fiction film, that doesn't quite pack the big punch it needs to be great.

At first You will no doubt admire this films neat ideas and its cool surprises. But as the film goes on, you just cant help but hope they take the story a little bit further. You want it to dig deeper,You hope that it will evolve into a much more accomplished story. But before you know it your hopes are gone, the films over and you have seen a film that you know could of been much better.

Splice will not evolve into the film you hope for, but it offers just enough cool, intriguing ideas to be an enjoyable science fiction film.
