I felt Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 was the best sequel in the entire Halloween franchise including the sequel that followed John Carpenter's Halloween. It was the most original, the most visceral, most unnerving movie of the bunch. Halloween 2 is what I expected when Rob Zombie did the first Halloween, I expected something completely outragous and unexpecting. His first take was good but this one was intoxicating. I love the new character that Laurie Strode has become, no longer the innocent schoolgirl but a hard-hitting, on the edge, punk that has lost her values and way of life. Malcolm Mcdowell is always good but besides the release of his new book Dr. Loomis didn't seem to be necessary in this movie. Another problem I had was the actor playing young Michael Myers, I didn't care too much for his performance. I would have prefered Daeg Faerch even if he does look older. However, what I loved about the movie was the obvious Rob Zombie style, which I love in all of his movies, the no mercy brutality that come with all of the murders and the cinematography combines realism and fantasy giving it a very unique nightmarish feel. I know most people didn't enjoy this movie which puts me in the minority. I'm glad Rob Zombie doesn't cater to the masses, he is who he is and I love him for it.
