The following are 3 cinematic contrivances that annoy the hell out of me, more and more ::
1) Action scenes where the camera works goes annoyingly shaky ( ie, all of Michael Bay and Paul Greengrass' movies ; others include Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, even the latest Harry Potter movie employs this god awful technique during the chase in the forest )
2) Excessive cussing : yeah, they're trying to be realistic, but, c'mon, every other word in a movie is " fawk this, and fawk that" ???? That's ridiculous. And the Academy gives Oscars to this type of LAZY screenwriting???
3) Chase sequences during Westerns or action movies where no one tries to shoot the horse or the car's wheels. Hello ?? You're trying to stop a guy riding on a horse by shooting the rider ? Aim for the horse !!!! Alot bigger target. Horse goes down, rider goes down. Easy. Simple.
And during car chases, dozens of persuers are chasing a single car. And they unload hundreds of rounds of ammo shooting at the car ???? Or aim for the driver ???? Again, Hello !!! Shoot the TIRES !!!! Chase over. Again easy. simple. Logical.
