Based on the book by John Le Carre, George Smiley (Gary Oldman) is amongst the crack-elite members of the British Secret Service and is investigating the possibility that a mole is among them, but the only thing is whom?
The plot is much more complex then that, but I tried to make it snappy.
It has a really interesting, different concept but it has a funny way of pulling it off. I'm not even sure what the heck happened in this movie, but it wasn't all bad.
The ensemble cast is electric. With the likes of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, John Hurt, Toby Jones, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Strong and Ciaran Hinds, this movie features some of the greatest British actors working today.
This movie is incredibly boring in certain cases, even for me, but if you are one who looks fast the tediousness, you'll find much to enjoy.
However, I found the storyline very interesting, if not even remotely familiar to every other spy movie known to man, but I found it quite enjoyable.
With a interesting and engaging storyline, wonderful acting (especially to Gary, Colin, Mark and Tom), bold direction, a few boring/what the heck? moments and great technical aspects, Tinker Tailor will leave some enjoying it, but others will be in the dark.
