Little Miss Sunshine and The Incredibles are overrated in my book, and Eternal Sunshine should be higher up. But hey, it's your list and the rest are pretty good

Decent list, On Her Majesty's Secret Service was one of the worst Bond films, in my opinion. Never liked The Villiage. Alien is great, The Dark Knight is good. At least Avatar is not in there.

I under stand why you don't like OHMSS and The Village. I always look on both sides of movies but I always have my own side. Avatar won't be on my favourite movie list ever unless I did a list of "favourite visual/special effects films". The plot of Avatar felt like an introduction and prologue to a greater story that would be Avatar 2

First Day, Second Year of College

    Posted on 09/09/10 11:53 PM | Last edited on 09/09/10 11:53 PM

So, today is my first day of my second year of college. Said in the letter I recieved that we would be in from 9-12. That's ok, that's good. But the bad thing is that today we will be in the theatre doing some silly quiz for twenty minutes and then 40 minutes of getting into the right second-year groups. Then two-hours of paperwork as in contact details, ICE (In Case of Emergancy), if any phone numbers has changed. Should be VERY fun. At least I'll get to see my old friends again (no not really) I said on my Facebook status that today should be fun and one of my college friends commented saying and impliying that I didn't want to see them all again. I had to lie of course, but I wanna go back today and be a new person. Make people for the next few weeks wonder if I've changed and then in three weeks finally come up to ask me "Have you changed over the summer holidays?" and then everyone says "yeah, have you?" and I'll just make up something up.

But better post this and switch off my laptop (or just put it to hibernate, it would be easier for later on).

Speak soon, (probably, probably not. I dunno)

So I haven't had a blog for months. Just thought I'd pop in a say what I've been up to.

So I'm on my summer holidays. I've gotten into Star Trek and started a DVD collection. I've got all of the films from Star Trek - The Motion Picture to Star Trek. All 2-disc special editions (yeah!). Infact now I think I'll give a list of what I think my favourite Star Trek films will be and then some time in the future re-watch them and give them a proper "my favourite film" list type-thing.

    #1 - Star Trek

This one is full-blown action packed with wonderful special effects but I think it does what Gene Roddenberry would have loved to have done in the 60s

#2 - Star Trek: First Contact

A great film and I love the opening how it seems to get straight into the plot. Great film for the Next Gen characters

#3 - Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Scary villain and brilliant acting. Probably one of the best

#4 - Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Brilliant, I love the way how our characters react to their "history"

#5 - Star Trek: The Motion Picture

This one I think was how some if not all of the Star Trek movies should have been, yes it's like an over-long Star Trek episode but this is what Star Trek was.

    #6 - Star Trek Generations

Under-rated and a very emotional film where the title "Generations" has a few meanings. The generation between Kirk and Picard, in the Nexus there won't ever be another generation, there won't ever be another 'Picard' because Jean Luc's nephew dies.

#7 - Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

I actually rather enjoyed this. I wasn't that excited about seeing it but I found it rather fun and I actually liked William's directing.

#8 - Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country

This is a great film. Tons of things happen and if this was some TV show mini-series then it would be brilliant. Such an exciting film and when I watched it I really didn't think it would be as good as it was. Another good thing is that we see Worf's grandfather (actually played by Michael Dorn)

    #9 - Star Trek: Insurrection

I really liked this film. I thought it was rather fun and had a good story. The acting is great and I really like the woman in it. I love how Data is evil at the beginning and how Picard and Worf sing to distract him.

#10 -  Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

This is a slow and sometimes boring film, but it is still ok. It has it's moments. The film is it's best on the second part of the film. The film had potential but just didn't live up to it.

    #11 - Star Trek Nemesis

I found this film dull, the Next Gen characters came back and were the same as ever but I really didn't like the "clone" Picard. The action-scenes were dull. Great effects though. I'll probably re-watch it one time and actually enjoy it. But this was a really bad end for the Next Gen characters and cast. This film also had the worst directing and music, the music is good but it feels more like the characters are going to burst into song.

So that's my little (kind of) Star Trek favourite film list. I'm working my way through Star Trek: Season 1 which I got on DVD two weeks ago. It's really good for something that is 44 years old and for TV. I've seen other American and British shows for the 60s and they are ok,  but not the best. Star Trek and The Avengers were the best shows from that time

Yesterday I went to Water World in Stoke in Trent or wherever it is. It was fun. Went with some friends. I didn't think it was that exciting because the place was more for the slides than anything else and once you had done them all that was it kind of boring. I got stuck on one slide, not because I've fat or heavy or anything, actually just cause I don't think the slide was sliding down the best and there wasn't enough water going through. I think this one was the middle slide to the left when you walk up. I think it was the only slide that was kind of open in certain places instead of covered all the time.

Dunno what else I did that would be interesting to fellow Tomatoes.

    Glee - It's Real Life

    Posted on 07/16/10 05:00 PM | Last edited on 07/16/10 05:00 PM

Humans! Stupid Humans! What's the name of that game? Destroy All Humans was it?

Humans are the nastiest creatures on this planet. Racists, homophobic, sexist pigs. Why can't Humans be as sweet as a kitten purring in it's sleep?

One of my favourite TV-shows of all time is Glee and it is so true. It's not just a TV show, it's real life. You can't be accepted anywhere because there are bullies, even most likely some of the fans of the show have bullied people like Rachel, Finn, Artie, Kurt etc for living their dream. I myself have been nasty but that was in Middle School when everyone was nasty and no one knew right from wrong. Glee speaks from the heart and touches everyone. The sad thing is, real people with real talent are out there in the wrong gang or are just to afraid to step forward. The characters in Glee are so much like everyone that most of my friend who I would never have imagined liking the show love it and thats because I believe in Glee there is a character EVERYONE can identify to.

Humans arn't bad, no one was born evil, it's just the basic instinct that drives us all. We all like to fit into the right crowd but always end up in the wrong one.

I myself would love to be in a Glee club, but I hate insults towards me, I have had so many because of random questions I ask that are actually good questions and I have had so many I can't be bothered to be nice to most people so I'm mean to them like they are to me, I know I shouldn't. Whenever Glee was on the TV I just wanted to stand up and dance but then that would ruin the reputation everyone has got stuck in their brain that they think is me. I would love to be in a Glee club and in the future play The Phantom and Roaul in The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies (both great shows) but I'm not good at making friends instantly and I hate people who just like insulting people for no reason and it hurts me to see it some times more than it does when people insult me.

The world needs a hero, if V from V For Vendetta was real people would look up to him, if Kick-Ass from Kick-Ass was real peopel would look up to him. But no one does these simple things. Humans need hope, no matter how bad they are both physically and mentally. Everyone needs hope and reasureence to a dream they want.

I try to. Wanna know something funny? The people who insult me and things and say I'll get no where in life are the people under the age to smoke, get drunk and have wild parties and they say I will get no where! I give teenagers a good name and once on a bus I was reading a book and as the bus stopped a woman as she was heading out said to be "Sorry, but I've just got to say. It's so refreshing to see a teenager reading a book and not on their phone or hand-hold console."

Beginning of 9 to 10 week summer holiday. Already bored

    Posted on 07/06/10 04:55 PM | Last edited on 07/06/10 04:55 PM

Finished on the 28th June at lunch time. Was excited to summer holidays but just bored. I don't really have that many friends cause I like to keep to myself and when I am with "friends" I don't really see there is much to talk about except things like "Seen a new movie. It was good.".

I bought The Orange Box of STEAM last Tuesday. Completed Portal the same day. Not a huge game fan, just a fan of Call of Duty, Half-Life, The Sims, Grand Theft Auto but GTA is too repatipive now and predictable. Completed Half-Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2. Didn't install Team Fortess 2, doesn't interest me.

Went to Martin's house two Fridays ago on the 25th. There all day then went to my youth group with him. Inspyre. I've been there since September 2006. Martin's been there since May or June 2009. We watched District 9 at Martin's house. We went to the cinema to see it but he felt sick cause of the scene where they force him to use the gun have way through so left, I stayed and watched the rest while he wandered in some game shops. He wanted to see the ending. Now he has.

Today I started Portal and completed it as well. Used some cheats cause some of it's a bit hard. Less cheats then when I did it the first time. Today I used about 5% cheats, the first time I used about 20%.

Today I also went to Edwards house, remember Edward if you've read my other blogs and have a good memory. My on and off best friend. We have a love/hate friendship. I guess he's more of my best friend that Martin cause best friends actually argue. Me and Martin bicker, but never argued and haven a big fall out. Me and Ed have infrequent ones. Two or three big ones. All over Facebook cause we say more, you know? The internet is an excuse to be mean, have a go. Your not talking to anyone face to face, even if your on webcam it's still not really face-to-face.
Stupid really our arguements. But today went round for like two and a half hours. It takes like 20 minutes to get to his house. He lives in the same town but in the country just outside the town. Live in a huge, long bugalow with a mega big garden. Me and Ed watched The Mist. He likes Frank Darabont's movies and especially the adaptions of Stephen King novels. Ed along with me has seen The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and now for Ed "The Mist". He thought the ending would be more happy. When I came home I realised that me and him should have a sleepover. We wouldn't do much except have infrequent conversations and smiling and nodding. We both love spending time with each other, niether of us will admit it. After leaving his house once his Irish doctor dad Richard said "You should come round more, Edward likes your company" and I could see Ed thinking "Ahhhh, daaddd.". They probably all spoke over dinner and them knowing their son would know if he likes it or not. Probably went:

Helen, Ed's mom: "Have a good time with Rowan today?"

Richard: "You two seem to get along quite well even though you don't say much to each other."

    Edward: "I suppose".

Edward has an older brother Alex, he's 19 now. Still lives at home, does volenteering work. He was at the same school as me for a year. I was in Year 9 and him in Year 11. I would have liked to been in the same school as Edward. The only "best friend" or "good friend" or friend who I stay in contact with after I leave was Martin. I was in Year 11 and him in Year 10 when we became friends, it was more to the end of Year 11 though. Saw him around my high school since he was in Year 9 and me in Year 10. Martin's mom Sheila went to guides with my mom, my aunt and Sheilas sister Sara when they were all little. My sister and Martin's twin sisters go to guides too. My parents have known Sheila and Jeremy (his dad) for years, just finally became best friends with them since I became friends with Martin.
But Edward has a younger sister called Anna who was in the same school and year as my sister for two years until Anna did one of those test things to go into a grammer school. She left in Year 7 to go to the same school Edward goes to. Edward went to the same school and went into the grammer school when in Year 7. The final one in the family is Lizzie, Elizabeth. She's six or seven. Looks like Drew Barrymore kind of and is a normal noisy child who is more or less exactly like Karen from Outnumbered.

I should see Ed more. He had his prom like last week or the week before. I should as how it was. Not over Facebook, face-to-face. We'd both get more out of the conversation you know? Hopefully I'll see him again Friday. He's free all this week but might go to his Friday. My mom said for us both to "discuss" over Facebook what we should do. Make plans.

Yay, I've finished all my college work! Just sat in college at the computer going through my folders to see if I've missed anything and I haven't seen anything yet. So thank God. Today is the last day I'm in college, I don't hate it I just really need a break from the on-going work they give us. Handed last one in. Phew, phew, phew. Ten weeks off. All of July and August of course then two weeks off September (or one week, heard that it's mostly two weeks) because of induction for the new Media students next year who are now either in the college and changing to Media or have just finished their GCSEs and after a Year 11 prom are now in the summer holidays!

    Tomorrow

    Posted on 06/20/10 03:40 PM | Last edited on 06/20/10 03:40 PM

So tomorrow is my dad's birthday and my mom has invited my second family, The Handys. They arn't really my second family and we have no relation, they are just people who I feel are like a second family. Martin Handy my best friend who I just love cause of our similarities and cause of his technology geeky references almost every day. My mom invited the Handys round I know more for me to see Martin than for a suprise to my dad but heres the "grr.."

So today after we had lunch at my moms college where she goes one weekend every month for her vicar training we came back home and I thought that we would just be at home for the rest of the day but like always I had my sixth sense that I kind of knew we would go out again but without fully realising we would. So my mom told me that we had been invited round to the Morrells for the evening. So we go there about six and spend threeish hours there. My other on and off best friend Edward is there cause he is suprisingly a Morrell, how shocking! So once again a trip to the Morrells I knew is a place where I can kind of be a kid again cause Edward even though he turned 16 in May, looks like a 14 year old and his voice broke a few months back is a bit of a kid himself and he brings out my kiddy side. Me, him, his older brother Alex and his two younger sisters Anna (who is 13 like my sister Holly and her best friend) and Lizzy all played hide and seek around their mega huge garden where their strangly super dooper big modern cottage is in the middle.

So after having fun I guess is the right word at the Morrells we had to go back home at about 21:30 (I like the 24 hour clock cause it makes me feel smart) just as an episode of Friends that me and Edward were watching in the Morrells huge lounge was finishing. I've got the 15th Anniversary Boxset of Friends and they really seriously need to make a movie. Cause seriously nowadays Hollywood is just for the money and if they make a Friends Movie the audience will love it and they will get millions, I reckon if they did make a movie it would get something like $854,388,289 and be huge as long as the story is good enough and doesn't loose any of the spirit of the show.

Anyway so I'm back home and just as I'm going to bed my mom says to me in whisper "shh, I've invited the Morrells over for dinner as well tomorrow. Dad doesn't know about his too" and I'm like what? As much as I love the Handy's and the Morrells I don't want my best friends in the same room together. It's not that they don't get along it just feels like I have to entertain both of them and go like "wanna play a game?" or "wanna watch a movie?"... ok thats actually not it. I just don't want them two talking to each other because what this is is like a triangle, I'm the top and they are the corners kind of. Infact that's not even it, I always feel jealous if my friends talk to each other, it may sound selfish that I dont' want them to talk to each other but it's just like how I prefer to keep my family/home life separate to my college life and I prefer to keep my two other families separate from each other. It's like when there is a CSI cross over (I don't really watch CSI though) and how all of the teams work together or something like that and I don't like big cross overs unless it's done simply and cleverly.

I just, I just want my two best friends too myself because I don't have many people who are actually my best friends 24/7. I see people in college or at Church who I'm like "I want you to be my best friend" even if I know them or not I just don't wanna suddenly enter their lives, even today there was this boy of about my age at my moms college lunch thing, he was well dressed and because of him being good looking he looked younger than he actually and most likely is and looked kind-looking, caring, polite, never-mean and I just wanted to go over and go "hey, what's up? Your the only teenager I've seen round here ever" and then we would suddenly click and become friends for a life time.

Everything I want is mostly all dream like and would never happen but I just want a best friend of my same sex, not that I would have a problem having a female best friend but I would just want a best friend around my age who I could hang out with and not have to entertain, he would care about me as much as I care about him, he would be understanding and sometimes when just chilling we could lie on a field and look up at the clouds (even though I hate dirt and be afraid that an ant might crawl into my hair and on my face) for hours and hours just talking.

I think I've had a good enough conclusion for once. Next time I think I'm gonna have to tell you about my on-going book because everyone needs to know of my never-ending book, mwha!

Nice blog! I especially liked this sentence, "I would just want a best friend around my age who I could hang out with and not have to entertain, he would care about me..." It's always great to have a close friend where you can just be yourself around. :-)

What a fascinating post! It was personally meaningful on many levels. I can't wait to read more of your posts. When you mentioned your Mom going to Vicar training that meant that even though I am in the US, we are both Anglicans doesn't it? This wouldn't be that exceptional but where I live the vast majority of people are Southern Baptists which is a polar opposite to the Episcopal Church. (My Vicar is a woman also - our congregation is small though) As regards your friends, I always found it more engaging to be part of a triangle than a couple. It seems the pressure to entertain or at least converse is nicely spread amongst 3 than 2 but that might just be me. I know just introducing one's self can seem difficult at times but there is something to be said about magnetism and attraction and you never know what could be unless you are willing to take a chance or make a move. Hope that you will let us know how the day went. I wish you all the best!

A Saturday of May (no wait it's June, darn it. But if it was May it would have sounded better)

Well not only is my title as long as The Godfather but also pretty random.

Anywho what did I do today? Well I woke up about 11:30 and as I was heading downstairs my dad and sister were on their way out to town. My mom is away for the weekend like every middle weekend every month for her vicar training. So I went downstairs and made myself some popcorn. It was quite fun to watch the bag inflate but sad when it ended cause I knew that a silly JD moment like it bursting and then loads of green radioactive wormy insects coming out of the bag wasn't gonna happen.

Well after my popcorn breakfast had finished in the microwave I went up to my bedroom where our beautiful cross bread (lab crossed with stappie) Peggy was waiting for me and watched Friends. I bought the 15th Anniversary boxset for my birthday which is totally awsome.

About an hour and a half after my dad and sister had came back I played Half-Life 2 and Portal. I'm not a huge game fan but I like these games. Then I watched more Friends and remembered Doctor Who was on so I flicked that on at 6:50 realising I had missed 10 minutes. They really need to put it back on at 7PM and stop with this stupid time change thingy. Then I watched The IT Crowd on 4OD after I missed the series 4 episdoe 1 episode because of being at my Friday night Church youth club Inspyre where I get to see my brother from another mother, best friend Martin. Oh I love him to bits, he's such a geek but I love him because we are so alike. Last October/November there was this Church weekend away for the kids and teenagers (ages from like 10-16) at this place we call Far Forest. Martin and my other on and off best friend Edward was there. On the Saturday I hated Edward and Martin cause of a silly arguement we had the previous night and when we had an activity we were meant to all split into a group and us few boys who were there (there was six boys and tons of girls, but none of us were pervy or anything cause we had all known everryone there for years so they were kind of like our sisters who we either know greatly or barely at all) were meant to get into a group but Martin turned to face me and cause I was still in a little mood I was like "what do you want?" and he said in his sweetest voice that sounded like the Ghost of Christmas Past (I think it's that one) "I wanna work with you" and my heart broke and I thought "why am I in a mood? Martin is your best friend. Remember when said you were both practically like brothers and your heart sank? You know it's the same here and you know you wanna work with him.".

Anyway back in the present after I played Portal and HL2 I watched more Friends and then Predator. I don't really like the film except the ending when it's just music and sound effects, setting up traps and the strongly disturbing laugh from the Predator. I just love the setting-up-traps till the bomb goes off.

Now I've watched about 25 minutes of Predator 2 I think I might flick it off and continue tomorrow. Haven't seen Predator 2 yet. Recorded both off TV when there was a double bill. Seen Predator two times now. But anyway I'm gonna go.

Once again there is no conclusion to my blog :/

I believe and don't believe at the same time (yes, confusing) in fate and free will. If there are two paths you can go down at this very moment you can only choose one and after choosing that even if you go down and then come back up to go down the other one you can never go back in time and choose the other one. The free will is choosing which one to go down but you also had fate to go down the one you chose.I know what I'm talking about this, sorry if your brain is now soup. But I'm a Christian because I don't believe that the random big bang happened, something must have caused it and most of science is just a rip-off of the Bible, especially the Big Bang Theory

So do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He came here and died for our sins and rose again? Have you accepted His Gift of Salvation? : )Because that's all that matters.

    Life and Movies

    Posted on 06/18/10 03:04 PM | Last edited on 06/18/10 03:04 PM

One of my favourite movies is 50 First Dates, it's my second favourite comedy (my first being Airplane) and I just love the story. If you want to become friends or a partner to someone you see in your school, college, work place or simply in the same restaurant every evening wouldn't you love to give it another shot after you failed the first time? My life 60% revoles around movies, I just love them, I think without me knowing it's actually escapism for me from the stressful world that commonly known as Earth but actually "life". The amount of times in a day I just want to watch a movie but there is no way I can cause either a) I'm not at home b) my laptop/tv is broken (which has never happened).

I just hate those frustrating, awkward situations in life where with a feeling of water being poured down your back and being stabbed in your back your like "oh dear, aawwkwarrdddd" and you just wanna be out of there. Movies is my life, I love any genre except Western, I wouldn't watch some silly girl chick-flick film by choice but sometimes I don't mind them. Anything thats escapism

New neighbours have arrived this month and we had them round for tea last Friday. They are nice, down to Earth. Both childhood friends from the age of 10. They are both 29 now, I don't actually know if they are parners or just best friend roomies but they said they had a DVD collection and when I hear "DVD collection" I hear "DVD COLLECTION!!!" and I know I have to have a look somehow so the next day I went round and sorted their DVD collection out and wow it really needed sorted out, film series should be with there sibling films not the other side of the shelf. It was fun sorted it out, sorted out DVDs for me is like tidying up for Monica.

I'm proud of my film collection as mine is slowly getting to an end of what films I want, I've got about 75% of the films I want apart from some and the obvious movie sequels. There is a user on Rotten Tomatoes that I stumbled across when I was putting up a review for Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and wow, my favourite shop is HMV and I think her living room with the two floor to ceiling is my local HMV except mostly all Blu-Ray and no price tags. She even had some films that I didn't even know many people knew about now, for example the 2002 Sci-Fi mini-series Taken. My mouth dropped when I saw the pictures of these DVDs, if ever I see any picture and there is a shelf in the background I can always straight away spot DVDs and then a few seconds later even if I don't have the film go "oh that's so and so, haven't got that yet." and if it's on Facebook I can't help but comment. This woman's DVD/Blu-Ray collection would be somewhere I would love to just sit by and stare at because she pracitally had the whole of HMV on her shelf and even if I know what film I want from HMV it still takes my 20ish minutes to actually pick it up and go to the counter because I'm always snooping around the rest of the store.

I did have a conclusion in my head about what I wanted this to be about but I've forgotten it now I went off track, but oh well at least you know I'm a mega film geek who would rather spend his time at home on his days off than with friends, but with my two best friends screw movies, I'm spending time with them... oh wait I never said that until now but oh well

Hmm, what did I do today?

    Posted on 06/16/10 03:18 PM | Last edited on 06/16/10 03:18 PM

What did I do today? Good point actually. Well apart from being 60% tired because of the Pop Corn Awards at my college (which is basically like the BAFTAs or Golden Globes but for Media students) going on late I tried to do my News Item on the Mac in college but the Mac was broken and the college has yet to actually get something to connect all of the Macs up so anyone can go in any of the six and access their work instead of a specific one. But anyway, went to my Church youth group, they are all wonderful there and after that came back home and watched Eli Stone, quite good. About 90% original, the 10% is about him being a lawyer and it's a bit cliche how an employee is getting married to the bosses daughter but it was pretty intreiging. Think the complaints about it stating the Autism is caused by Mercury was silly, it's just a show, it's fictional even though there were some cases in the 90s about Mercury causing Autism. But you never know, like Eli said that it took 30 years (don't know if it's true) for scientists or whatever to find out that smoking is bad for you and could kill you, he had a better point but he's a character and been written to say that. Well anyway, gonna watch some Friends...

... the TV show, I'm not gonna go round to some friends house and just watch them, LOL (I need to stop saying lol)
