I liked it. It was intelligent. Had this sort of experience myself, so it hit close to home. Guys can be suckers and blind. There was a definite role reversal here, which is part of its uniqueness. Nice review. It was not a rom-com, but a drama. It was an interesting screenplay, although I thought they made it too quirky and heavy. Although the music was nice, the impromptu song'n dance sequence was out of place. It should have been a more personal experience IMO. Also, being an architect myself, I hate the way architects are portrayed on screen. Most directors and screenwriters don't seem to understand anything about architects or architecture. What? No comments on A Clockwork? Unbelievable. Anyway, here I am to change all that. Great soundtrack, I ran out and bought it. It complimented the movie pretty well, I thought. Funny, I never rewatched it again, nor any Kubric film. I think it must be the dark side of life in his films I find stressful. Well, actually the film was amazing at the time it was released, like 50 years a ago. There was absolutely nothing like it in cinema at the time. Good review Sara C. I tried to be generous and kept my review of this barely a fresh at 60%. I thought the hand held camera was used entirely too much and like too much salt it ruined the dinner for me. The technique has been used in films for years and isn't new to movies. Great review, Sara! Nicely written! I loved Glenn Close's acting and Douglas is usually good (Though I think his father Kirk Douglas was much better than him in his heydays). Great review. I actually liked this film more than you, mostly because of Glenn Close. She does a picture perfect job of playing a textbook borderline personality disorder. Borderlines are the scariest people on earth. They keep psychiatrists awake at night, and Close's portrayal was terrifying. 1 Replies | Report Abuse

Dont care for the Sarah Marshall character, but the Hollywood stereotype of portraying the ex girl as a bitch...SM was not a bitch in the start but slowly turned into one...which was shit. One character appears to have been developed. But no, it's not developed. It's just used as a way to help go around the plot. The actors aren't even that great. Just about average acting and I don't blame them. None of the characters are deep. Nolan's work is brilliant and that's it. I don't see how you can give this a 100%. Damn' so damn' overrated. I disagree with the development. They all stand apart, we gain an insight into all their individual characteristics and behaviorisms so I don't see how that doesn't justify as development. I gave your review a thumbs up. I'm not saying it's a bad movie at all. But 100% is outrageous. Page is okay. But Tom hardy and Dicaprio are both brilliant actors. Sara, I respect your opinion but I have to differ. Iguess i should really write my review on this film too:) The first 20 minutes were actually boring to me. It did not thing to develop the characters so ultimately I did not care for them. Instead I was transfixed with a wonderful science fiction story - and I love science fiction! I agree with your assessment and your 100% rating. As I stated in my review, movies about dreams are one of the trickiest to pull off and Nolan does so without artistic pretention, instead he aims to entertain. I find it funny when someone criticizes a film for being too commercial - commercial does not mean bad. Some of the best movies that have lived long in people's imaginations were commercial (Jaws, Star Wars and Avatar to name a few).
