Showing 1 - 1 of 1 Movie Blogs
Doug Walker( aka Nostalgia Critic) did one and so I think it should be fun. If you like any of these movies, that is fine. These are not really horrible movies, I just don't like them as much as everybody does. They are not in any particular order.
1 - "Antz" (1998)
I am refering more for the critics becaue apparently a lot of audience dislikes this. I really don't like this, because it is so... dull. The story we have seen a thousand times and here it is told in a boring way. "A Bug's Life" came out a few months later but that one was really good and fun to watch, as the story was much better, the characters were more fun and the animation was really good. The voice acting in "antz" is cool but as I said, it is not a very entertaining movie.
2- How to train your Dragon ( 2010)
In contrast with "Antz", I did like "How to Train your dragon". It is a jolly and beautiful animated piece of storytelling that does a good job. However, that's about it, for me. IT's a good movie but I think everyone praises it for being a masterpiece of animation, which I can't seem to agree. It has some really funny moments amd beautiful imagery but I just thought the story was very bland. It is cliched and for me it could have worked better. Its a good movie and enjoyable but not exactly the great thing everyone says it is.
3- Cars ( 2006)
For me , "Cars was the first ( and thus far only) movie in which PIxar failed more than it probably should. Because they do what they do best: create marvellous worlds. However with Cars it is A World. In Toy Story or Monsters Inc, the stories were told in parallel with the human world, even after The Incredibles they start focusing more on people. In "Cars" there aren't people at all. The cars talk, have eyes and move by themselves. It's a world where vehicles exist by themselves and that is kind of weird. The story is average to and the greates disappointment is that this is Pixar and I was expecting a masterpiece as they can only make. Still this is an ok film anbd it is fun to watch.
4- The Polar Express ( 2004)
Robert Zemeckis is a talented director but he really sshould stop making these CGI capture movies. Once again, not a horrible movie but, average average average...Whilke it does suceed in talking about the Christmas and delivering a message. But the characters are not very developed and to be honest, some of the animation scares a little. An ok movie, just didnt thgink it was that good
5 - Milk ( 2008)
I don't want anyone to associate homophobia to what I am going to write in here. Thjis is just about the movie. Sean Penn is one of my favorite actors and if he didn't play Harvey Milk, this wouldm probably be a worse movie to me.The movie is not bad and it does suceed in explaining the treu events of the man. The thing is: it is not memorable, at least for me. I remember some scenes but most of them are forgotten. I guess the movie just didn't made an impact on me .
6- Slumdog Millionaire ( 2008)
If this movie was an original written screenplay, I would give this a higher score. The problem is the book is a masterpiece and if you read and compare it to the film, the adaptation is relly strange. Because it changes too many things and keeos only some. But even besdes that, I thought some scenes were alittle dull and some too corny. Maybe I am niitpcking but I don't find a great movie
One of these days , I will make the other way around, telling the ones I like but everyone hates. And that list will be even bigger.
