Even though I feel The Graduate is getting slightly dated, its still a classic film that is emotionally great and has great performances from Dustin Hoffman, Katharine Ross, and Murray Hamilton. As far as the dated aspect of this film goes I felt that it was off of the very little amount of sympathy I felt for the Benjamin character to the point that I was getting frustrated and thought to myself he deserved not to come out on top at the end. By the end I do question after everything he put her through why would Elaine still want to be with him. This is dated to me because when this film first came out this was looked more as a comedy rather then a drama, this all comes from the change in cinema. So in a way i cant really blame the movie at all for not 100% standing the test of time because most movies cant. I love that this movie can still have have a different meaning then it was originally intended and to me that actually makes it timeless rather then dated. Also the movie again kept my attention and even though i didn't completely like the Benjamin character I still felt happy at the end mainly because of the soundtrack and perfect timing of the direction.
