Nice blog, and that Nicholson pic is classic. This movie is not on your list, but I think it should be: Fight Club. The ending of Fight Club perplexes me, because a character shoots himself in the mouth with a gun, but walks away relatively unscathed. Does anyone know if this is likely, given the fact that a gun went off in his cheek? I think this needs to be discussed. Thank you. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Lol id rather not get into that again thnks :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Excellent blog Nikki, agree with your number one choice completely. You could also add The Fighter; their family is pretty dysfunctional. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Thanks, yeah i should add the fighter 0 Replies | Report Abuse I should think The Simpsons Movie is ALL about the ultimate dysfunctional family, or in general the TV series. Its been described as such on TV by others. But you know what, as your personal family is a great example, I don't think in reality we really know what DYSFunctional really really means. That means, cannot function, yet the large majority of familys stay familys because they CAN function, however badly. The divorced families are truely the dysfunctional ones, would you agree? Great list btw, not sure if some of these picks are really familys but still great films about the topic. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks for commenting :), i havent ever watched the simpsons but i guess i will add it to my list, and your right most families really dont know what dysfunctional means, and although my parents are not divorced they have come very close to that point and i have this crazy grandmother lol but we somehow also make up after every fight so i guess we are somewhat "functional" 0 Replies | Report Abuse great blog Niki! you should definitely see little miss sunshine because the Hoovers are definitely a dysfunctional family. There's also the Wards/Eklunds from The Fighter, but I definitely agree with your chioces 1 Replies | Report Abuse Thnks, i definitely will :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Outstanding blog Niki:)!! ~The Shining pic caught me off guard...I thought my mind was playing tricks on me~~~Those eyes are so creepy~! 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks, yeah lol i didnt realize the pic was moving either, really freaked me out ;p 0 Replies | Report Abuse Very nice blog. What did you do to get the pictures in finally? 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks :) oh about the pictures, u know when that window comes up after you wanna paste something, then inside the window you have to paste it using the keyboard ctrl v.. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Ah..you paste the picture or a link to the picture? 1 Replies | Report Abuse Great list! How about Larry Gopnik from A Serious Man 2 Replies | Report Abuse Yeah! 0 Replies | Report Abuse thnks, i havent seen a serious man yet, but ill check it out :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Hahahahaha, amazing pic of The Shining. 1 Replies | Report Abuse yeah it is lol 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great picks. That pic of Jack is scary as hell lol, but you cleary havent seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 Replies | Report Abuse lol, thnks , no i havent seen it, but ive heard they are some pretty fucked up people, ill definitely add it to my blog :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse excellent blog, I think I would have put Meet the Parents higher- I just can't get enough of that movie 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Excellent stuff. I particularly like the Burnhams from American Beauty. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks a lot :) yeah its hard not to love them, american beauty is simply amazing :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Loved the Nicholson pic. Yeah, they are some very messed up families. 1 Replies | Report Abuse haha, yes indeed! :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great blog. Brilliant tribute to the screwed families of celluloid. As for that Nicholson picture - Gahhh!!!! 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks, yeah everyone seems to either love the picture or be freaked out by it ;p 0 Replies | Report Abuse Cool blog!I love American Beauty the most, the epitome of dysfunctional family movie and the fighter should be in the top 10. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thanks :) American beauty and the Fighter were both amazing movies 0 Replies | Report Abuse as soon as the Arrested Development movie comes out it should definately go up here! 1 Replies | Report Abuse oh yeah there are a lot of dysfunctional tv families as well, i should make a blog about that too :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great list! Have you seen Abel Ferrara's "The Funeral", with Christopher Walken, Vincent Gallo and Chris Penn? Now that's a really dysfunctional family! 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks, no i havent but it sounds like a good movie, i will definitely check it out :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse My favorite dysfunctional family is the one from Kramer vs Kramer 1 Replies | Report Abuse oh i havent seen that one yet, thnks for the comment :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

Great stuff. I agree with these. 0 Replies | Report Abuse What about Hans Landa from Inglourious Basterds? 2 Replies | Report Abuse Hans Landa isn't really an 'Anti-hero' is he? He is an out and out villain! 0 Replies | Report Abuse
0 Replies | Report Abuse Yeah I guess so :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great list. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great and interesting list. :) 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great Blog... You missed Tony Montana from Scarface (1983) and Tony Camonte from Scarface (1932)! Lately, maybe Uxbal from Biutiful? He doesn't entirely qualify but somewhat does! 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks...Well i don't really see tony montana as an anti hero, more of just a villain, but i guess you could put him on the list and i havne'y seen biutiful yet.... 1 Replies | Report Abuse ? And Hannibal Lecter isn't a villain!? :D He is a serial killer and cannibal for Christsakes! LOL 1 Replies | Report Abuse toshiro mifune in yojimbo and seven samurais 1 Replies | Report Abuse Yes..Sanjuro from Yojimbo! Missed that one! Great choice! 1 Replies | Report Abuse I have not seen this movie yet, but i definitely check it out 3 Replies | Report Abuse
0 Replies | Report Abuse Excellent choices NIki:)!! Hey, what about Leon from "The Professional" & Ah Jong from "The Killer":) 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks, i haven't seen those movies yet :(, but i will surely check them out :) 1 Replies | Report Abuse Cool~~~U wont be dissapointed:) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great list, but what about the actors who play heroes but have small penises? Aren't they, in a sense, antiheroes? I am thinking, of course, of "Pee Wee" in the "Porky's" films. 1 Replies | Report Abuse haha!!! well grouchy, that is an interesting observation, i guess you can't save the day with a super small penis lol ;p 1 Replies | Report Abuse I resent that remark. Who says I can't save the day? 1 Replies | Report Abuse That is a serious who's who on the anti-hero front. I think what draws us to the anti-hero is that somewhere, no matter how slight, there is an element of the anti-hero in all of us. 2 Replies | Report Abuse Great blog. 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Well said my friend :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great list Niki! Can't think of any additions right now, but if anything cones to mind I'll let you know... 1 Replies | Report Abuse ok...thnks :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Awesome list! Wouldn't you consider Rorshach, Rhas Al Gul, and Jason Bourne anti heroes? 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks...great suggestions :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Tonny, played by Mads Mikkelsen, in The Pusher Trilogy films by Nicolas Winding Refn, or 'One-Eye' from the film Valhalla Rising. Okay, I'm gonna be a little corny, but it'd have to be Amy Adams in The Fighter - I'd just like the ideally of a ballsy woman like her in my corner if things were going wrong in my life. 2 Replies | Report Abuse lol nice choice :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Haha! Nice choice. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Hahahaha ummm I would say Kiera Knightly in Pride and Prejudice. I like the old times lol 1 Replies | Report Abuse lol great choice too, shes very elegant and classy :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse 1. Malena (Monica Bellucci) the most womanly woman on earth! What grace and charm! 2. Appollonia(Simonetta Stefanelli) from The Godfather!.. Thunderbolt power indeed! :) 2 Replies | Report Abuse ohh nice picks, i see you like italian ladies lol 1 Replies | Report Abuse
0 Replies | Report Abuse
0 Replies | Report Abuse Yaaa...:P I like most things Italian...Italian women, Italian food, Italian-American actors, Italian-American gangster-based films.. :) 2 Replies | Report Abuse Malena? Lol maybe if I hadn't watched the movie. Just the part where she greats the women who beat her scares me. 1 Replies | Report Abuse *greets. 0 Replies | Report Abuse I would have to say Elijah Wood, i just think he has a great personality and we have the same last name so it must be fate haha :) 1 Replies | Report Abuse haha yes its meant to be :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great blog Niki:) ~I would have to say George Clooney as Jack Foley from "Out of Sight"~~~I didnt know bank robbers could be sooooo hot~!! 1 Replies | Report Abuse thnks..haha ya george clooney is always a great answer :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great idea for a blog, this took me ages to think of, if I were at least 4 years younger I'd say Eli (Lina Leandersson) from Let the Right One In, but from my current age I'd say either Alma (Sabrina Dennison) from Santa Sangre or Dil (Jaye Davidson) from The Crying Game 2 Replies | Report Abuse thnks...um i have to say i don't know any of the women your talking about lol but im sure they are great choices :) 1 Replies | Report Abuse You haven't seen any of those films? You must see them all! They are so brilliant! 1 Replies | Report Abuse if you're not about 15 or 16 yrs old, I think you might have a bit of a problem there. Ever seen The Woodsman starring Kevin Bacon. ...just kidding. I kind of know what you mean - she has that strange Christopher Lee/ Frank Langella vampiric intensity combined with intelligence and sensitivity. Great character. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Lol. I like this blog. Well, lets see. Marisa Tomei from My Cousin Vinny, Faye Dunaway from Network, Edie Falco from The Sopranos, Uma Thurman from Pulp Fiction, Rosario Dawson from Death Proof, Keira Knightly from Domino, Laura Linney from Primal fear, Halle Berry from Monster's ball, Meryl Streep from Adaptation, Milla Jovovich from Stone and Thandie Newton from Rock n Rolla. Haha! 2 Replies | Report Abuse wow those are some amazing choices lol 0 Replies | Report Abuse Rosario Dawson from Death Proof? She was hot but, man she was a bitch! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Don't know. Just loved her. Lol. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Lol, give us more choices of yours :) 1 Replies | Report Abuse well lets see, pretty much any robert deniro character, george clooney from ocean's eleven, ryan gosling from the notebook, bruce willis form die hard, christian bale from the dark knight, robert downey jr from iron man and viggo mortensen from eastern promises :) i thnk thats a pretty gud list lol 2 Replies | Report Abuse Mortensen from Eastern Promises, most charismatic and intimidating character in my opinion. You want a man with power don't you? Lol. What about Tony Soprano? The russian guy from Rock n Rolla? 1 Replies | Report Abuse What about Waltz from Inglourious Basterds and Jackson from Pulp Fiction? 2 Replies | Report Abuse I think that my soulmate is Major Richard Winters, from show Band of the Brothers, I really like his personality, and of course the Damian Lewis is very handsome and cute guy. :) 2 Replies | Report Abuse yes he is indeed :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse yes! nice choice :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse
0 Replies | Report Abuse Okay, I'm going way back to the early 90's, but I'm going to have to go with Moira Kelly from "The Cutting Edge". She was spoiled, but there was just this kind of innocence and naiveness that I liked about her. My second pick would have to be Jennifer Jason Leigh's Stacy in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". 1 Replies | Report Abuse both woman are very beautiful although i have not seen either of the movies... 0 Replies | Report Abuse It has to be Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's when singing those wonderful Moon River lyrics and she notices the man watching her above that smile shes gives is just. Wow. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Great choice, she is a classic beauty :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great blog!! So many choices its so hard to choose... Christian Bale in The Dark Knight!!!!!!!! Or maybe James Marsden in any movie because I think hes gorgeous! 1 Replies | Report Abuse ohh great choices, i love christian bale too :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Alyssa Jones from Chasing Amy. her wild days are behind her so you wouldn't have to worry about her too much ,a valuable commodity in a women, and when she gets on stage in that bar and sings that song that Joey Lauren Adams wrote it gets me going every time. 1 Replies | Report Abuse well i have not seen the movie yet , but it seems like shes one hell of a gal :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse I'd say Marion Cotillard in Inception. I'll be a bit more specific and say pre-limbo Marion, since Cobb's projection is psychotic and a bit homocidal. But if we did get a chance to see her before she went into Limbo with Cobb, I'm sure she would be a very lovely lady. 1 Replies | Report Abuse lol yes the pre limbo Marion sounds like a good choice, she is very beautiful and a great actress :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Tough one. I'd like to go see a deep psychological film with Hannibal Lecter. I'd love to get his thoughts on a movie like Eraserhead or something. 1 Replies | Report Abuse ok thats an unusual answer lol 0 Replies | Report Abuse Okay my ideal guy would be Garrett Hedlund, he played Billy in Death Sentence which is my favourite movie. I like the bad boy image and he has big muscles lol and he looks great to hug lol. But i love him haha. Another actor i really like and this may seem weird but its Zach Galifianakis he is sooo funny makes me laugh all the time i just love his personality really, great guy!! there are probably loads more but they are the main ones that came to my head if theres more i let you know lol but great blog niki!! 1 Replies | Report Abuse So i see your ideal guy is a bad boy that can always make you laugh, i wouldn't mind finding a guy like that myself lol :) 1 Replies | Report Abuse Yea sounds about right hahaha good kind of mixture but would never happen lol 0 Replies | Report Abuse natalie portman as alice in closer 1 Replies | Report Abuse great choice :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse hmm.....Sam in LOTR, especially in return of the king. or Jack Driscoll from the new King kong. Sam because I think he was the hero in LOTR because frodo would have gotten nowhere without him and Jack Driscoll because Adrien Brody is attractive. 1 Replies | Report Abuse well im actually not a fan of Lord of the rings, but king kong was awesome and yes adrien brody is very handsome :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse The character Szofi, played by Eszter Balla, in the 2003 film Kontrol (a hungarian thriller about ticket collectors on the Budapest underground- one of my favourite films). She is first enigmatic, then balshy, then seductive, then intelligent, then sensitive. She appears to have many sides to her and is not interested in trying to impress anyone particularly, although she is open to meeting people if she can see something in them that others don't. Eszter Balla is a really good theatre actress and plays the chemistry with Sándor Csányi really well. 1 Replies | Report Abuse OMG i actually saw this movie, i thought it was really good too, and yes szofi was great, iam actually Hungarian, do you happen to be as well or do just happen to watch hungarian thrillers? 1 Replies | Report Abuse wierd co-incidence. No, I'm Scottish, but after seeing Kontrol when it came out and following what Nimrod Antal was doing, I started to realise there is this whole Hungarian film culture which seems to stand out from other European countries. I met a hungarian guy in Glasgow once and asked him why it stood out as having a slightly wierd point of view on things and he said it might be historical because supposedly your language comes from Finnish and not Slavic, and also there's different ethnic groups which have formed the folklore like Magyar and so on, then there's the whole experiment with communism and the gang culture that has sprung up in recent times. No doubt you will know more about it all than me. I love Taxidermia also. Any recomendations? 2 Replies | Report Abuse well i actually don't watch hungarian films, kontrol was pretty much the only one i saw, but i will definitely check some of them out, and our language is really very different from most, can't be compared to any, there are not exactly gangs but there is a very large number of gypsies that do not "fit in" with hungarian society and there has been lots of conflict and violence yeah. when I said gangs, I meant neo-nazi type ones. I saw a little documentary about it. supposedly I come from Romani, but please don't remove me because of it. I'm kind of open minded about the psychology behind those sorts of things anyway. I guess it's not people's fault that they have a need to belong, it's just ashame they express it that way. I like Keira K in Atonementwhich is one of my favourite movie. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Great choice :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Summer from 500 days of summer! I don' t care what everybody thinks, she's awesome!! 1 Replies | Report Abuse lol, shes really beautiful too :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Captain Wentworth (from Persuasions) 0 Replies | Report Abuse For me, I'm going out with a more recent gal. Zooey Deschanel's Summer Finn in (500) Days of Summer. Unpredictability. It's exciting! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Great choice :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse Wow, most lead characters seem like my soul mate! <3 haha but the ones that spring to mind: Jack from Titanic (obvs), Tom from 500 days of Summer, Legolas from LOTR (Our kids would have blue eyes and blonde hair..I'm a fan of that notion). Patrick Demspey in Enchanted. Aaron Samuels from Mean Girls....wowwwww! And the last I can think of is Marty Mcfly. Any of those will do nicely! :) 1 Replies | Report Abuse wow thats some list lol, i hope you find the blonde haired blue eyed man of your dreams :) 0 Replies | Report Abuse
