The Dilemma is an appropriate title considering the film is constantly facing one, what does it want to be? At times, it is a light-hearted, slapstick comedy (such as Queen Latiafh's character or the garden scene), sometimes it's a very dark comedy using a surprising amount of violence, other times it is a drama dealing with tough questions about trust and relationship. I'm not at all saying that a movie has to be a one tone song, but this one seemed to lack a flow or coherence. There were some definite things that were positive in this one and most of the performances seemed genuine. I especially like Ron Howard's use of flashbacks or scenes of imagination that mostly struck with good timing. However, I just didn't feel like the sum was ever greating than its parts.
P.S. Good to see Jennifer Connelly again. She is looking as beautiful as ever.
