I actually enjoyed The Adventures of Pluto Nash. It's nowhere near the disaster that critics and box office receipts would have you believe, in fact, it's a much better film than either Norbit or any of Murphy's live-action kiddie flicks. What was it that worked for me? Murphy wisely brings his leading man charm to the role, Rosario Dawson is an appealing leading lady and she shares a nice screen chemistry with her co-star. I also loved Randy Quaid's bizarre yet tone perfect performance as Murphy's robotic bodyguard. I had a lot of fun with this one. Definitely look for this to develop a cult following. SIDE NOTE: The score by John Powell is fantastic. If you come across the bootleg promo album, definitely pick it up.
