Demi Moore plays a one-note bitch and Michael Douglas reprises the same downtrodden family man he played in a far better film titled Fatal Attraction. The pivotal sex scene is execute in the wrong manner, the scene shouldn't feel erotic, it should feel like a violation of personal space and rights. Somehow, it feels like someone spliced in a scene from a soft-core porn, and it took me right out of the movie. Some of the legal procedural and court case material feels more authentic and I almost think the film would have been better served if the sex scene hadn't been shown. It would have been better if treated in a style similar to Kurosawa's Rashomon. It would have been better if we were always in doubt over whose version was the truth. But, this film doesn't care about subtlety or intellect. It's aiming to thrill you in very cheap ways. I think the subject matter is promising but the treatment of it was a real let-down.
