Don't be Afraid of the Dark is kinda of a cool film but its weighed down by its ridiculous nature but that can't be helped when dealing with such a premise ultimately it drags its feet with settle moments of whispering voices and things that truly do stir in the night. I've seen far worse when it comes to horror its worth checking out as a casual watch on netflix but beyond that its simply forgettable.

Godsend's premise is somewhat interesting but its execution is far to predictable and mundane ultimately its your standard piece of escapism and not much more then that. The only real noteworthy scene in the film is when Robert De Niro goes crazy in the church at the end of the film granted its not terrible but its not good either I would say its a tolerable film but its not really worth investing time into it.

Angels and Demons is a fairly decent film with a few stand out moments that appear through out its running length its unfortunate that I caught the twist ending on television before I ever saw the film in its entirety so the ending didn't have any bite or shock to it because I had already seen it.Tom Hanks gives a fairly average performance as Robert Langdon and the musical score helps build up the critical scenes in the film I believe I most likely prefer The Da Vinci Code over Angels and Demons but either film is phenomenal but both are solid pieces of entertainment in the end one could do worse when it comes to movies.

The Dark Knight Rises was a solid film that had its moments like every film I've seen this year..it was far to long for my taste specially when it ends a 1:00 in the morning..The opening scene with Bane stealing the doctor away from the airplane was one of the high points of the film.I wasn't to crazy about Catwoman granted there was nothing wrong with her character it just seemed like she existed for the sole purpose of being Bruce Wanye's love interest and in the end there wasn't much else to the her.The best thing about this film is Tom Hardy as Bane..he stole every scene he was in with ease conveying every emotion through his voice. The ending with Batman "dying" felt a little forced but the last scenes with Blake and Alfred made up for it they were quite excellent.I like the Dark Knight Rises but its not in the dark knight's league..I would most likely take it over batman begins if I had to choose.

The Amazing Spider-man had its moments where it was quite good but Sam Raimi's 2002 Spider-man ultimately is the better film in the end.Andrew Garfield is a pretty solid spider-man and is the best thing about the film but I do prefer Tobey Maguire over Garfield as Spider-Man.When it comes to Aunt May there is no question that Rosemary Harris is a far better Aunt May then Sally Field! The battle sequences are far superior in Sam Raimi's films then in the Amazing Spider-man there was nothing really awe inspiring about them (other then a decent scene where Peter wraps the Lizard up in a web at the school but compare that to every other action scene in the three previous Spider-man films yeah it pales in comparison no doubt)Gwen Stacy's father dies at the end of the film and honestly I could care a less about it I was not moved by the scene also Emma Stone is a decent Gwen Stacy but I don't think of much of her as an actress.Rhys Ifans was solid as the Lizard but nothing really to noteworthy about his performance it was pretty average..there are about four or five noteworthy scenes in the film Peter saving the boy in the burning car hanging from the bridge..Peter toying with Car thief and battles a cop and leaves..in the finale of the film Peter is injured and about to jump to the top of the Oscorp Building as he is running this great piece of music starts playing that really makes the scene and Uncle Ben's narration at the end was kinda of nice as well..the final shot of Spiderman sweeping through the skies of New York was nicely done..I enjoyed parts of the film..it gave people more Spider-Man which is always a good thing but I would of taken Raimi's Spiderman 4 over this film any day if I could I would give it a 68% but instead its a 70%.

I finished watching Stanley Kubrick's Full metal Jacket for the first time..the film is quite mean spirited and kinda of amusing in the first part of the film with R. Lee Ermey saying the most ridiculous things to the recruits while the most noteworthy scene in the first half of the film is when Vincent D'Onofrio goes insane and kills R. Lee Ermey and himself in the process..he truly looked like a possessed man(some excellent facial expressions from Vincent D'Onofrio he told you everything you needed to know simply from his bizarre mannerisms)while the middle of the film is a bit slow and bland but it picks up in last fifteen minutes of the film where the woman sniper is toying with the soldiers..its the best scene in the entire film easily overall it was a pretty solid film nothing excellent but still a fairly nice effort from Stanley Kubrick..I'm going to be exploring more of his work so I will see how Full metal Jacket stands up to the rest of his filmography.

Spider-man 3 is a flawed film that has its moments of excellence through out its two hour run.Spider-man 3 has some of the best choreographed fight sequences ever put on film!Sam Raimi really knows how to put a fight scene together that much is quite certain but the film's main problem is that it was simply far to ambitious for its own good throwing three villains at Spider-man was simply to much also Venom(One of -if- not Spiderman's greatest villain)isn't treated with the respect that he clearly deserves simply having no time for character development and being reduced to a second rate villain who is killed off far to soon!Spider-man three has quite a few quiet moments that remind you when your watching that their is still some charm and heart in this film..it may not be the perfect film but it does end the Spider-man Trilogy on an fitting note its just saddens me that we will never see Sam Raimi's Spider-man four we will never know what could of been but the remake The Amazing Spider-man is coming out this summer so well see if its worthy of the Spider-man name..honestly tho I doubt it will ever reach the high marks of the Sam Raimi's films.

I remember seeing some critic's quote in a tv spot for Snow White and the Huntsman calling it a Masterpiece well clearly that's nonsense because Snow White and the Huntsman was a very mixed bag of a film..the first hour of it was bland and unengaging but When the dwarfs and the fairy forest came into the picture it became a little less bland and somewhat tolerable..Bob Hoskins was excellent as the blind elder dwarf and their is a sequence where this beautiful Irish folk song plays while the Dwarfs and Snow white are walking grieving over the loss of one of their own...The last ten minutes of the film had a few good bits in it but you could see how the Queen was going to die from a mile away it was obvious. The Queen's death was very anticlimactic especially considering Charlize Theron was spouting the best quote in the entire film while she was burning alive then moments later Snow White puts an end to her reign and that's the end of it..the film was decent but nothing to special..the true highlights of the film are the dwarfs and the mirror man.Snow White And The Huntsman is a fantasy adventure that could of been great but in the end it fails to live up to its promising premise.

Joon-ho Bong's the Host was a fairly decent film that becomes really exceptional in the last fifteen minutes of its running time..I do prefer Joon-ho Bong's Memories of Murder over the Host but its a solid monster movie with plenty to offer.

I just finished watching Ronny Yu's Fearless..an excellent film with solid fight scenes & a respectable and moving performance from Jet Li.I did enjoy Freddy vs Jason and Bride of Chucky for what they are entertaining gore fests but Fearless is truly Ronny Yu at his finest as a film maker.
