I just watched 3:10 To Yuma on TV today for the first time in about 2 years. I remember going to see this in the theaters years back and loving it. Watching it today reminded me why I loved it so much. Christian Bale does a great job as always but in my opinion Russel Crowe stole the show. He was amazing as Ben Wade.
3:10 To Yuma is about Dan Evans a rancher who has has 2 sons and a wife. He is offered $200 to escort Ben Wade to the train station to catch the 3:10 To Yuma, where he will be hung. Now before this you see why Ben Wade is wanted and how bad ass his crew is. You also see how regular Dan Evans is, and how he just wants his kids to love him. Well escorting Ben Wade his oldest son tags along as well, which ends up being a big help.
Throughout the movie you can't help but feel for Bale's character, as a simple rancher with no money, and no respect. I also really like Crowe's character. Although he is an outlaw in the film, he is very likable. To me the ending was the best part of the film. Now I am not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but I will say it is extraordinary.
3:10 To Yuma is what every remake should be like, and that is amazing. I can't tell you how much I dislike a bad remake of an amazing original. And thankfully this is one of the best remakes I have ever seen, and in my opinion better than the original.
My rating for 3:10 To Yuma is
