Nosferatu: Phantom De Nacht (Nosferatu The Vampyre) directed by Werner Herzog.

This version from Herzog has beautiful cinematography work, especially the eerie music, at some scenes, in the start of film, while showing mummies, at the scene when Jonathan walks through mountains the eerie music can be heard in the background, plus the coffins in one of which is Count Dracula, sailing in the sea, these scenes send ghastly nature of bizarreness. It is so perfectly directed, with performance from Klaus Kinski as Count Dracula is no doubt worth mentioning here.

    NOTE: RE-WATCHED 3rd TIME

Herzog is a very talented director and I really need to watch the classic version first. Nice review!

You should, it is classic horror film, look for music-score and its chilling atmosphere.

Never been able to find a copy of this film. The original Nosferatu is one of my favorite horror film and one of the first I've seen. Heard many great things about this, good know it does Nosferatu justice.

Original is classic, and it's my favorite too...but if you want to see early works by god of cinema Werner Herzog, this is his 2nd best after Aguirre The Wrath of God. As these days he's making artistic documentaries with deep message of subtle nature.
