Here's the thing about this movie . . . It's among the smelliest pieces of cimematic garbage I have ever seen. I know it's a movie about carnivorous plants that talk, and apperently can survive indefinitely without a food source (There were what, 4 other bodies up there?), but golly there were too many plot holes and stupidities to count.
But I'm stlll gonna try.
How did they find out about the temple place? Did one of their friends go there, come back, and give it rave reviews? HOw many gringos have gone missing there? If there is no cell reception, where did the talking killer plants learn how to make cell phone sounds? The plants were strong enough to drag grown men around, so why did they wait to attack till it was the most suspenseful possible? How did the plants know how to psychologically torture these kids? They knew their European friend was going to die, no matter what, so why cut off his legs and make his last hours total torture? Why is Shawn Ashmore in these stupid horror movies (Frozen)? What is the Latinos' threat? Stay there and die a horrible death or we will shoot you? Why didn't they just give the kids a humane execution, rather than subjecting them to all that? Do they not know about fire, weed killer, bricks, bleach, or any other number of items that can kill plants?
This is just another bastard child of Open Water; Americans get trapped by nature and the folly of the native savages and all die. Frozen, Thirst, The Descent (an AWESOME movie till the morlocks showed up), and probably more that I just haven't seen yet.
