A thrill-seeking, emotionally gripping, humor-filled science-fiction film that will entertain you throughout, even if you don't appreciate science-fiction fantasy. The movie is near perfect with the various elements that were combined within its 112 minutes, including science-fiction, mystery, suspense, humor, action, and romance. Any fan of Spielberg will become a fan of this instantly; Spielberg not only produced this but the film (as far as story) contains many familiar parts that you can see, and trust me that is far from a bad thing. J.J. Abrams, who co-wrote and directed this film, did a fantastic job of creating an intense atmosphere, that doesn't feel cheesy in any way. The young actors and actress likewise create an emotionally-gripping story of love (among several different people). The cinematography only adds to the film and allows you to be put into the situation. The combination of humorous characters; the emotionally gripping, intriguing story; great 70's music; intense and visuals; and Spielberg-esque elements create, in my opinion, the best movie I saw this year in theatres. A must-see.
