Good review. I hate this one too much for the same reasons and currently my least favorite sci-fi film. I couldn't for a minute believe that the aliens that trained and taught a rebel prisoner everything on their culture could take us over so easily. As for the way it was filmed I usually joke the crew couldn't afford a tri-pod. They spent it all one those effects. Also, who thought it was a good idea to have the aliens to go to the salon? 1 Replies | Report Abuse

I only read the whole article to this on Wikipedia, & then watched the Nostalgia Critic's review to it & I almost lost it. I have no idea if I should really experience this for myself anytime soon. But from when I heard that "Humans are an endangered species" I knew what to expect, loosely. 1 Replies | Report Abuse

Wow, harsh. I've heard lots and lots of bad things about this movie (the Dutch angle problem is one I've heard in most every review) but I'm still kind of interested to see a film so infamous. Great review!! 1 Replies | Report Abuse

I suffered through this abomination too. I never got Fred appeal nor why anyone would bother to give him a TV series. Most baffling for me is John Cena playing the father. Am I suppose to be Cena produced Fred? To much for me to buy. 1 Replies | Report Abuse

Battlefield Earth and this in the same week? Why are you punishing yourself so? I was interested in seeing Battlefield Earth because of the infamy surrounding it, but you couldn't pay me to see this: after 1/3 of one Fred YouTube video, I know that this isn't a movie that should have been made. 1 Replies | Report Abuse

I rather liked it despite all of it flaws. Being a huge fans of Martial Art flicks I found this very disappointing. I understand why you wouldn't like it and I too hated the overused slow motion. I think you might want to look into Ip Man if you want a better Martial Art film. It has some flaws, but it's a solid flick with strong drama. 0 Replies | Report Abuse

Well, if I can force myself to watch it, I have 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on watchlist on YouTube. I had Super Mario Bros. on my watchlist for over a month before I finally motivated myself to sit down and watch it. :P

Great review, though I call bull on the special effects part, the ones using CG at least. The special effects are actually great for a films so poor in everything else. But I laughed hard when the director thought we were supposed to believe that a man with blonde hair is King Koopa & ugly men with turds with teeth for heads are supposed to be Goombas. Still, as bas as this movie is, it's actually James Cameron's Avatar compared to "House of the Dead" (a true definition of the word abomination f

I was actually almost considering watching this, just for the unintentional humor aspect of it. But I'm thinking no now. Can't believe Dennis Hopper would do this. Very entertaining review!

Oh this movie! I still can't believe the Mario brothers were father and son despite the title having "Brothers" in it. Need we forget the whole opening with the Dinosaur or Dennis Hooper running gag of a pizza. It's all around awful agree. Applaud you for making through it.
