This movie has everything you would expect in a summer blockbuster; action, comedy, sweet special effects, a hot chick (Natalie Portman), and according to my wife a hot lead actor (Chris Hemsworth). Plus it has a good script and great direction. The movie was directed by Kenneth Branagh who is known for his medieval dramas such as 'Hamlet' and 'Henry V'. With a resume like that it made perfect sense to have Branagh direct 'Thor' since there was quite a bit of medieval, knights of the round table, type of speech with the scenes that took place in Asgard. The biggest issue I had with this movie is that they tried too hard to fit in the whole SHIELD thing which felt out of place at times. I guess they had to since 'The Avengers' is already being filmed. Besides that Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, and Natalie Portman gave great performances. Of course, Portman's performance is nothing compared to that of 'Black Swan' but still a good performance. For being an entertaining well directed movie I would give it a C+, WW!

I wish RT would let you score movies by increments of 1 because I was between a 70% and an 80%. My C+ rating would probably translate to a 76%.
