Grandma's Boy (2006)
Director: Nicholaus Goossen
Cast: Linda Cardellini, Allen Covert, Peter Dante, and Doris Roberts
I felt I could connect with this movie somehow. A 35 year-old guy plays video games for a living, he has financial troubles and has no choice but to live at his grandmothers house along with her two odd roomates. So I don't live at my grandmothers (anymore) and I too like to play videogames so I thought I could really get into this flick.
The movie is pretty damn funny at times but I doubt this would be considered a classic I like to compare this movie to televisions Family Guy, there are some funny random scenes that do nothing to advance the plot but are funny anyway. Sometimes you have to go into a movie just wanting to have fun with it and this is a prime example. Nothing like watching a stone Doris Roberts serving some ice-cream sandwichs... that are on bread... with lettuce and J.P. the programmer who think he's a robot.
It's not on the level of some great comedies that were recently released such as The 40 Year-Old Virgin or The Wedding Crashers but it's worthy of a viewing. Especially if you're a fan of some of the Adam Sandler movies.
