I would honestly call this one of the best sci-fi movies I've ever seen. Bearing in mind as a 19 year old I don't have any particular nostalgia for the original series.

Personally, I'd say it's better than the first Iron Man movie. Maybe a notch or two below The Avengers, though. It's what all good sequels are, more and better.

The trailer and synopsis are a little misleading. It's about ten minutes of aviation followed by two hours of Denzel Washington being drunk while a legal drama goes on around him. But it's still a good movie, and I would recommend seeing it. I could personally do without the religious undertones, but it's still well directed, well shot, well written and a very compelling performance by Denzel, and I'd be surprised if he's not at least nominated for best actor.

As a fan of MMA and boxing movies, I've always thought MMA movies should be more common. The trailer initially had me interested, but then I found out it's directed by the man responsible for Zookeeper and Click. Unless I see some reviews saying he's improved (a LOT), I'll pass, TYVM. Granted Happy Madison Productions should've been a dead giveaway. With some companies, good movies are a fluke, but with Happy Madison, TOLERABLE movies are few and far between. And as for Kevin James, he was good in King of Queens but he needs to pick some better movies.

You know, I think I'm trying to tell myself I liked this movie a lot more than I actually did. I mean, objectively there's not much wrong with it. The writing, while confusing, is passible, the action is good, the effects are good, the acting is good, but... it just dragged. It dragged so much. And that can often ruin a movie that may otherwise be an instant classic. It ruined Blade Runner and Space Odyssey for me. As it stands, if it had just been 15 minutes to half an hour shorter I probably would've enjoyed it as much as I did The Dark Knight.

Bit of a guilty pleasure to me. I couldn't in my right mind call it one of the greatest movies ever made, but I love the mockumentary format and this is actually one of my favourite movies it's produced. Plus the animation is FANTASTIC.
