    9th Billion Dollar Film?

hey readers. Pretty soon, Pirates of the Carribian: On Stranger TIdes will be hitting the $1,000,000 Box Office mark, making it the 8th film to have ever done that. Now, with 8 billion dollar films, i was thinking about the next one that might hit that mark. With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 coming out in less than a month, and The Dark Knight Rises coming out next year,I thought one of these two films might be the next film hitting the big ten-o.

Now, i think the final harry potter would be hitting that mark. It is indeed the last film in the franchise, and Part 1 has already come out on DVD for those who didn't see it in theaters, and it's very likely that HP7 will be making 1,000,000 dollars or more. It might even be the  most watched grossed midnight showing of a film, as well.

Some people would disagree, for the highest grossing harry potter film was the first one, and the other ones could never make it past the amount of maney it made, not even Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. So , as of now, many people are confused as tow which movie will be the 9th Billion Dollar film, and I'm betting Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Please tell me your consent on what yout think will be th 9th Billion Dollar film, and for what reasons. thanks!

I'd say that's a safe bet as even though Transformers is out, Potter's earnings overall will dwarf it and it'll probably hit a billion faster because of the release dates being the same worldwide.

I think Harry Potter will make over a billion is because its the final and everyone will go see it. So it will make a ton of money.

Sorry, but these dollar figures mean nothing, because they don't take inflation into account.

Definately could be a safe bet, however this summer, like next summer is basically a blood bath for the high end films. No breathing room between releases and theatres are actually taking hits because they make their money in the latter release weeks because the distributors make it off the ticket sales in the early weeks. With basically a week or two between major releases the attention span is blowing in the wind for most film goers... so that could impact HP's chances at being a billion $ film while it's sandwiched between Transformers and Captain America with other releases like Cowboys and Aliens. Dark Knight Rises should be a lock but I believe Star Trek and The Wolverine are on the plate as well as Avengers.

you are deffinetly right about that. so many huge films, and so many major releases, i begin to think that getting a billion dollars at the box office might be a regular thing soon.

At this rate transformers is heading there with it's $500 million worldwide intake in less than a week but it only really has a week left to shine before Deathly Hallows takes over the scene. Everyone is going to want to go and see it as it's the last in the series. It has apparently already sold out 2000 showings a week before release so it is going to be a heavy hitter. I think it will make at least $900+ million.
