Since Cusack was so great. Who would have made 1408 an embarrassment in your opinion? Personally, I wouldn't want to see Michael Rappaport trapped in a hotel room for 90 mins.

There are so many names that could be almost certainly detrimental for the role, and Rappaport is a great one to point out. Hmmmm...if I had to choose just one, I think I would go with Gilbert Gottfried.

This movie was really impressive and engrossing. It wouldn't have been a Cronenberg film without all the gore, which was expected, but still surprising. I can't wait to own it.

Definitely one that jumps around and confuses its audience, but in a totally unique and un-insulting way. It is a very important film to see in the present time, as a lot of independent and even a few bigger films are starting to do. There are still films with a lot to say and Linklater is always at the forefront. I cannot wait to see "Fast Food Nation" later this year. Yes, Downey is probably the most impressive actor working today. He is acting his ass off right now.

I liked "A Very Long Engagement" too, but not as much as you. Yes, the film looked great and Audrey Tatou pours her heart into her role, but the screenplay seemed like a mess to me. First, the World War I scenes are very confusing because the movie takes the time to name all of the soldiers and, after a while, loses sight of them. Second, the movie awkwardly stepped on the brink of fantasy, what with the bartender with the wooden arm or the woman who murders the soldiers who wouldn't let her hus

Right on. Woody hasn't been at the top of his game because (I get the sense that) he hasn't really pushed the boundaries of what he does since "Sweet and Lowdown." I was actually under the impression that "Crimes and Misdemeanors" is considered one of his classics. I usually see it held up as the peak of his 80s output. It is fantastic. But you really hit it on the nose with your comments about "Another Woman," a practically forgotten Allen masterpiece. Easily some of his best work as a direc

Yes, I do agree with the fact that "Crimes and Misdemeanors" is considered in most cases a Wooody classic, I'm just saying that it needs to be talked about more alongside "Annie Hall" and "Manhattan". I think it's that good. I really have been meaning to "September" for a long time now. I shall get to that.

I agree that Allen's newer movies are usually still better then most movies. Although 'Hollywood Ending' wasn't great, it was decent, certainly didn't deserve the trashing it got. This might sound like a weird question, but are you a guy or a girl? Andy is sorta a gender non-specific name, and you have two pictures that seem like they could be you in your profile.

"Crimes and Misdemeanors" is Allen's masterpiece, and it's on my 100 favourite films of all-time list. While it is often cited as one of Allen's better films, people tend to cite "Manhattan" as his masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, I love "Manhattan", but to me "Crimes", "Annie Hall" and "Hannah and Her Sisters" are more successful. "Crimes" stands at the top because of its astonishing sweep over the full spectrum of human behaviour, from the comic to the macabre.
