5 out of 5 stars!
Oh man movies just do not get better than this ya know, I mean its just great. Is there really any mistakes or even errors in this movie? You got the perfect cast, great story, the right writers and one of the most remorable movie villains of all-time, Hannibal Lecter. Yea I know its really disgusting at part you know with the dead bodys and personalities of the psycho paths, but its all a part of the story.
If there is one thing about this movie that makes its so great are the main performances from Jodie Foster as our hero of the movie, Clarice Starling and Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in which they both deserved their oscars for. If anyone could play a great villian its Hopkins and how could anyone surpass him for that rememberable performance that he gave. He manges to make Hannibal a very disturbing, but also a very interesting character mainly because he is one of those rare people whom is crazy but not stupid. And lets not forget the acting from Jodie Foster who plays the main character. I really have to give alot of credit to her by the way she brings her character into being and shows what problems she has and how she faces her fears. Infact I don't believe anyone else could have pulled it off, other than her of course.
Even I do admit the story is a sick one, its still a great one. And not to give to much away but the story starts off at an FBI headquarters where we see the main character Clarice Starling played by Jodie Foster is assigned to go to a psychiatric institute to interview the incarcerated cannibalistic serial killer known as Dr. Hannibal Lecter played by Anthony Hopkins in order to find out more about a serial killer nicknamed "Buffalo Bill". Bill who murders overweight women and skins them so he can make a "woman suit" for himself. And as the movie goes on Clarice meets up with Lecter again a couple more times in order to find out who Buffalo Bill is before he kills his next victim.
And off course this would not be possible if Jonathan Demme (whom deserved his oscar for Best Director) if he did not make this movie come to life. True he only known for few other films like Philadelphia, The Manchurian Candidate remake and Rachel Getting Married, but I still consider him to be an honor among all film directors.
Infact this is one of the absolute best films I have ever seen in my life period. It's right up there with movies like The Godfather or even Pulp Fiction. Everything about it is just excellent, great cast, directing and story. Overall its great, so check it out.
