Went to a screening of this movie and let me tell you I want my time back on how long I waited for it. This movie was probably one of the worst movies I seen all year. Lets start with the storyline. Katie Holmes and Guy Pierce pretty much get Pierce's daughter back to live with them in a new mansion. As it turns out the mansion has "scary stuff" in it. Little monsters attract themselves to the little girl and yadda yadda yadda. As for the scares there really wasn't any. This movie is so dull and boring that it feels like work to watch it. Del Toro blew this movie with a bad script and bad actors, as we all know Katie has only one expression on her face for every feeling. I cant stress enough that everyone should avoid this movie! You have been warned.

I saw this movie a month ago in an advance screening. I will say this movie goes in my list of 20 best movies I have ever seen. The movie stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick and Angelica Huston. I consider the movie to be a Dramedy. As for the story line, Levitt has a pretty ordinary life with his girlfriend and best friend (Rogen). Levitt feels back pains and a trip to a doctor later reveals he has spinal cancer. The movie is about how Levitt deals with cancer and the people around him including his shrink (Kendrick) and mom (Huston). I usually like to start with the negative qualities of a film first but honestly I don't feel there was any. Levitt has his best performance since Inception and Rogen has his best performance ever and it comes from a supportive actor role. A little warning be prepared to bring some tissues. This movie is a tearjerker and if you do not feel emotional you don't have a soul. I went to see this film with my best friend who dealt with a family member who had cancer and my friend was bawling throughout the film. With that said this movie is also hilarious as Rogen and Kendrick bring on great comedy relief. I strongly recommend this movie. I will be sure to see it again. Don't miss it!!!
