Masterpiece from Spielberg. Excellent review, and marvelous ratings! 1 Replies | Report Abuse It's certainly a masterpiece, I can't imagine giving it any other rating. Thanks for reading. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great review. Totally agree. Not sure if I would call it the first blockbuster. Both The Godfather and The Exorcist had already made huge marks in the box office of the 70s. But Ebert said that about this time is where it went from making the big american movie to making the big top grossing hit. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Whether or not if it's the first blockbuster is debatable, but there's no denying Jaws a masterpiece. Thanks for commenting. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Without question. 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

Sounds like a real winner. I only caught a little of Water For Chocolate and realized I should see it from the beginning. The only romance movie I have seen that has a little bit of honesty was He's Just Not Into You. Of course, a lot of people didn't like it for that reason. Nice review CM. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Didn't like He's Just That Into You much either, but this gets it right. The only other honest romance movie I've seen is 500 Days of Summer, which I also liked. Thanks for the comment MMB. 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

I must confess, The Godfather is the film that initiated a non-stop craze inside me that of watching movies. I once watched it playing on some Middle-Eastern channels and since I have gone crazy about movies. No doubt it deserves 100%. Great effort, keep up the good work! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Sounds like you love The Godfather and I will admit I was tempted to see the other two in the same day. King Kong (1933) started my craze for movies as kid a in the early 90s, it was everything I wanted as kid with Dinosaurs and a monster rampaging New York. I think 100% is the only appropriated score to give this classic. Thanks for commenting Sarfaraz. 0 Replies | Report Abuse This is one of my all-time fave films. I had no idea the novel was so fixated on Sonny's penis! Bizarre. Thank God Coppola looked elsewhere to find inspiration for the film. Not that I have anything against big dicks. I think they're pretty cool. : ) It just is not what's on my mind when I contemplate art. 1 Replies | Report Abuse The novel is an oddity, the adaptation is highly regarded as the essential crime film that changed views on crime while the novel contradicts it. Just like you, the source material was nowhere to what would be called art. 0 Replies | Report Abuse This movie is one of a few movies which is worth the full 10/10! Same Views here! Great Review! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Agree, 10/10 rating appropriate for this masterpiece. 0 Replies | Report Abuse The Godfather to me was one of those movies I saw at a very young age and I was supposed to like it, but I didn't see anything special about it. After a few years and a few more viewings, it is without a doubt one of my favs, especially in that genre. It's still a bit slow and dark. Although, I wonder how many peoplle realize the horse head scene is in reference to Sinatra? Excellent review, as always! 1 Replies | Report Abuse I didn't know there was a reference to Sinatra? The Godfather is one of best in it genre no doubt, still waiting to get my hands on the sequels. Thanks for commenting MMB. 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

Bruce Lee to me was the James Dean of the martial arts movies. Very talented and gone too soon. This is the classic I've always wanted to see. Nice review CM. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Agree, it's a shame whenever we loose someone talented to soon. Going to back to my earlier reviews I finding allot of spelling errors, but I think I slightly improved over time. Thanks for commenting MMB. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Not to worried about the spelling. I've got an iPad that fixes my spelling, but sometimes it even changes my words. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Ahh, Bruce Lee, the guy who defined the Martial Arts genre, and action in general. The guy who in a time where urban movie heroes used guns to save the day, equivalently did the same with just his lightning fast hands, feet, and nunchakus. Yeah, if you can't already tell I love Bruce Lee. Not only is he one of my favorite action stars and martial artists of all time, he was also a very inspirational/motivational icon. I agree with this review, Enter The Dragon is one of the best if not the best 1 Replies | Report Abuse I think part of your comment was cut off, but I agree with you. He's one of my favorite too and left an impact that is felt even today. This is my personal favorite from what his films. As of now, very few Martial Art flicks I saw can compare to this masterpiece. 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

This was a great movie. I loved it! Nice review too. Although I have to add is rapping and dancing scene from Jack And Jill to one of his performances I can't forget. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Al Pacino rapping and dancing is something I've got see, though I do have to be cautious considering that I could barely tolerate one Sandler on screen. Thanks for comment, now I got a reason to see a scene in Jack and Jill that doesn't sound painful. 1 Replies | Report Abuse If it helps, the scene is at the very end of the movie before the credits. After the number song/commercial, he says: burn this. 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

I feel the shame. I should take some time for the martial arts genre and this sound like a great movie. Good review. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Don't feel a shame if you haven't seen a Martial Art movie. I still haven't seen a Stanley Kubrick movie. I hope you get the chance to see one, thanks for commenting MMB. 1 Replies | Report Abuse I actually think I saw a few Bruce Lee movies a long long time ago. I wouldn't mind seeing a few now though. What do you recommend I start with? As for Kubrick, he is not for everyone. For some it's an "acquired taste". 2 Replies | Report Abuse If you want a dramatic martial art movie go for Ip Man. I saw it a while back, but I never wrote a review. It has great fight scenes and a good story. The other would be Police Story with Jackie Chan, it's a little more comedic and has a decent story. Plus you get to see Jackie Chan chase a bus with an umbrella in a cool scene. Here's a YouTube link to the full movie, but it's not very good quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWA_6NPLM_A My last recommendation would be The Raid Redemption, |

This is one of those I should have seen a long time ago. Not the first time I've heard it is excellent. I'm just glad considering the subject, that there is a real story there, and not just gang violence. Great review! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Thanks! I have some of those movies as well. I'm glad I got to see this. It's not often a fictionalize movie so subtly handle real life issues without coming out as preachy. A must watch if you come around it. 0 Replies | Report Abuse John Singleton is mannered and well-educated director. He took the subject of so-called social-life of many African-Americans to address the most prevailing issues affecting the young African-Americans. The style, in which he directs the film gives lesson to sane and conscious parents throughout the US to divert their sought-after attention toward bringing up their kids under a gentle and productive society. Excellent ratings there! One of my top-favorite gangster films! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Thanks! Exactly the reasons I like it. There's not that many gangster films that deliver a positive message and tackle real social issues as good as this one. 0 Replies | Report Abuse I'm glad you picked up on the father-son dynamic which is so crucial to the success of this film. It's its heartbeat. I think Fishbourne's performance ranks right up there with Gregory Peck's Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird" in terms of great movie fathers. Good review. 1 Replies | Report Abuse Thanks! My thoughts exactly. Very few father-son dynamic can be as moving and as potent as the ones you mention. 0 Replies | Report Abuse I am sorry to say: I haven't seen it. I love movies like this... should be on my list. Excellent review. 1 Replies | Report Abuse I like them too. Thanks for reading! 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

The film is quite realistic, I was surprised how moved me in such an unexpected manner. Thanks for dropping by Sarfaraz. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Excellent review sir! I watched this movie only few months ago, and it was typical horror film, that you may rely on. Leatherface gave me chills with his heavy presence. Very nice review and critically amazing ratings there! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Leatherface is terrifying, but everyone of the killers were chilling in their own way. It's a shame not many horror movies can have a killer with his presence. Thanks for commenting. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Nice review... but I just don't like movies like that! 1 Replies | Report Abuse It's on the same level as Cannibal Holocaust, it's not something for everyone, but I like enjoyed them. Thanks for commenting Panta. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great review! I am very interested in this! Horror movies nowadays are just not as scary and shocking as the classic ones! On my list! 1 Replies | Report Abuse Agree, the ones we get nowadays are too tame and predictable. Hollywood doesn't make horror like they use too. Thanks for dropping by. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Great review; we really do need more horror films like this. They have the potential of being so much more than the cheap, manufactured pieces of kitsch which you mentioned. 1 Replies | Report Abuse The horror genre has been loosing steam for quite a while, but there's a few handful that keeps it alive in modern times. I agree, it's an excellent movie. Going to older movies when the new feels repetitive and bland is what I usually do. And in a time when they counted on creativity and not CGI is some of the best. Like my father used to say, they don't make them like this anymore. Great review CM. 1 Replies | Report Abuse I certainly agree, there just no creativity nowadays and movies aren't as fun as they use to be. They sure don't make them like they use too. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Excellent review and remarkable ratings for one of my top-favorite films and actors. 1 Replies | Report Abuse I feel the same way towards Chaplin and his movies. 0 Replies | Report Abuse |

I know many that feel the same as you do too. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Had loved it when it came out, could not recognize Jeff then and his villain character did in fact scare the sh*t out of us with his bald head, heavy voice and threatening physique. 1 Replies | Report Abuse I love it too, it's one of my personal favorite. Yeah Jeff Bridges was awesome here. My mother had the same reaction to as you did when she saw Bridges. 0 Replies | Report Abuse Not sure if Iron Man deserves 100% but I appreciate the differences.
