So I have less then a 100 movies to go before I finish my project where I watch 365 movies I had no already seen in a year. Though I have been watching a lot of great stuff I look forward to being done. That way I can be done with watching movies for my own little project, and do them just for fun. Right now it honestly feels like a job, but a fun job. I have been using the library to watch films a lot lately. Whenever I go there I always drop off the movies I rented last time I was there, and then pick up a few new ones.
Lately I have been mostly watching films in my book “1001 Movies you must see before you die,” or watching films that have been nominated for best picture or won best picture. When I am done with my 365 movies in a year thing I plan to go on and try to see every film ever nominated for best picture or won best picture. I may do the project again once I finish it. I am considering changing it to how many movies I can watch in a year. If I do that means that it won’t end once I have watched 365. I won’t make that decision until I have seen 365 movies that I hadn’t already seen.
I just switched to a new high school that gives me more free time, so I have been able to write more reviews. I write one every other day for the most part. I have been trying to write more bad reviews. I find that I have to take a different approach to writing reviews for bad movies then for good movies. I used to mostly only write good reviews, but now that I have mastered writing good ones, I want to become just as good at writing bad ones. I also want to keep on improving on my writing for film reviews.
When I started I looked up to other users on this site, and I wished that I could write stuff just as good as they do, but now I have had a few people tell me that they wish they could write just as good as I do, which has made me feel really proud of myself, and I feel like I have accomplished a lot on this site by increasing my following, and having people tell me that. I am a junior in high school, but once I get to college I plan to go into film making, and I have been writing screenplays, but if that doesn’t work I know I will want to be a professional film critic, and not just on rotten tomatoes. That is why this project has helped me. It has helped me learn that writing is my true calling. I don’t think I would have developed the skills as a writer if I didn’t join this site and start this project. I also have been wondering how many times somebody has read a review I wrote and decided to see the film based on what I wrote about it. If you have done that I would like to know.
I also plan to start doing video blogs on YouTube once I get the time to do it. I want to start doing more blogs on this site too. I want to start doing a thing where every week or every other week I discuss what I think the best films in theatres are at the moment. Another idea is that every week before movies come out on Friday I will blog about what films I think are going to be the ones to see. Once I get the time I will do that, but now I am trying to catch up on schoolwork, but I will review and watch movies when I can, but it may be a while before I actually start doing the stuff I say I want to do. This blog is just an update on how I am doing, and how the project is going. I also wanted people to know my plans and what to expect from me in the future. As you can tell I plan to get more and more into writing about movies, and I am excited to get around to do this stuff.

Hi, I just read your blog now, I guess it left me devastated, you are really farsighted aren't you. I would wish to see Brendan Connely as a scriptwriter than as a professional critic. And about the question you asked on your blog, sorry, I haven't seen any film after reading your review about that particular film. It is because I don't have a habit of reading reviews before watching a film. I only read reviews of films that I have seen and then I would relate it to my views. In such a case, my favourite review of yours is Dark Knight(2008). I liked it really well. Before I began using RT, I used to get films after searching for films in Wikipedia, there they show you whether a film is good or not based upon the critical reception. Then I saw a lot of critically acclaimed films and felt most of them to be disappointing. Then I began using RT because it helps me find films easily. I always look forward to the audience rating in this site, but I would never judge a film bad based on the critic ratings. That is why I rate any film I liked without any reluctance, I would even do that if they are both panned by audience and critics. I have noticed that you once had 500+ reviews and now you deleted all the small ones and kept only the long ones, why is that so? do you believe that a professional should only write long reviews?

Awesome blog! This is a really interesting project that you're doing. It kind of reminds me of the movie-version of Julie Powell's project; have you seen Julie & Julia? Good luck!!

Great blog and kudos for the movie project, it really shows your enthusiasm and commitment, two things I think all great writers need in spades. I have to say I watched Silver Linings Playbook after reading your review and I'm glad I did because I was missing a really great movie! I actually joined RT because I wanted to try and get back into writing and comparing some of my half hearted excuses for reviews to some of the stuff you've been writing has actually inspired me to clear them all, start again and this time write them properly! So, thanks for that and keep up the good work!
