The world has witnessed many great movies. And the cools ones always get the first pick. Here is a list of some of the coolest movies I have ever seen. If anyone objects or have suggestions, please share...

    10. Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl, 2003

Made in 2003, this Walt Disney franchise has proved to be a witty classic. In midst of all the confusion, terror and action lies the innocent Captain Jack Sparrow who's looking for his own peace of mind. As Jack Sparrow, I mean Captain Jack Sparrow, tries with style to make matters better through many close shaves, we watch with amazement. Johnny Depp is the central actor in this film and you will be left reciting his cunning lines and wearing a pirates costume in Halloween. Pirates really is a fun movie and I mean serious fun. Savvy?

    9.Yojimbo, 1961

Akira Kurosawa changed the way we made films with Seven Samurai  and Rashomon. Yojimbo too is an addition in this change. It brought the ultimate "coolness" in the movies and keeping the hero's name in anonymity became a style. This is a story of a samurai who tries to save a village from the battle of two criminal gangs. Equipped with windy shots, slow walks with style, witty lines this movie is a great entertainment package. It changed the style of all Spaghetti Western movies ("A Fistful of Dollars" is the remake of Yojimbo.) and it's theme has been adapted widely in world cinema. Yojimbo is highly recommended.

    8. Back to the Future, 1985

Time Travel is a common formula in cinema. But there's nothing like Back to the Future. It's a movie that provides infinite possibilities and you are left tensed throughout the whole experience. Because a single mistake can cost you. But besides it's thrilling moments, this movie is a "raptor" ride. The story centers a teenage kid (Micheal J. Fox) who is the assistant of a nutcase scientist (Christopher Lloyd). The latter invents a time machine and ,well you know, trouble trouble trouble! Back to the Future is one of those rare sci-fis where screenplay is given the utmost attention. All the elements work, especially the story. Watch how both of them manage to screw up the "screw up" and eventually end up untying all the knots. Die with laughter and experience a unique "cool" movie that is still a worldwide favorite even after a quarter of a century. Enjoy!

    7.Run Lola Run, 1998

For those who have seen it might be surprised to see this one over here. But being a personal list, I present you Run Lola Run. The girl with burning red hair is Franka Potente a.k.a Lola. She has the mission of (can't find the right word) earning 100,000 Deutsche-marks to save her boyfriend. But within the time limit of 20 minutes! The whole movie is based on luck and probability. In spite of it's brain teaser story, it does not forget the "cool" element. As the title suggests, Lola runs throughout the movie, planning as she runs. The director makes an attempt to be unique and he does it quite successfully. The editing is different and adds to the "cool" factor. You will know once you have seen it. A true masterwork.

    6.Snatch, 2000

Guy Ritchie makes a sensational attempt at creating an ultimate cool movie. The movie is cunning in dialogues, makes fun of each and every character and gives chaos a new meaning. If you are a non-Britisher, watch this one with subtitles. It's hard to imagine a movie with pig-feeding gangster, dealers pretending to be Jewish, a mom loving bare-knuckle 'pikey' boxer, a Russian who's impossible to kill, a hit man with a desert eagle and, yes, who can forget that damned dog? You will know what I am talking about once you have seen it. The story starts from a bank robbery (a funny one) where an 84-carat diamond is stolen. Well, you know the rest of the story. Hence the title. The movie is fast and does not wait for anybody. But the "cool" factor makes it more easier to enjoy. Snatch is a movie that you will watch again and again and remind you of cool moments of your own life...

    5.Terminator 2: Judgement Day, 1991

There is no person who is not familiar with this James Cameron classic. The picture of Arnold holding the shotgun is self-explanatory. Before this movie, you should watch it's predecessor to know the story. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a futuristic killer robot with one mission: Termination. This movie has proved to be a classic and people never get tired of watching it again and again. The style and the action is unforgettable. It feels that Arnold was born to do this role. His most memorable quotes like: "I will be back", "Hasta la vista, baby" defined a new class of "cool".

If you have not watched this one, then my god go and watch it!

    4.For a Few Dollars More, 1965

Sergio Leone's For a Few Dollars More is... cool! It's a classic western movie with incredibly smart moves and why-didn't-I-think-of-that moments. The main theme is revenge. The duo of Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef are hunting down Indio, a notorious gangster. As the title suggests, its all about money once more. This movie has another unique sense of style which makes it different from other Westerns. Ennino Marricone does a great job with the soundtrack without which the movie fails in some aspects. Highly Recommended for everyone...

3.Raiders of the Lost Ark, 1981

A film ahead of it's time, Raiders of the Lost Ark is ground-breaking and action-packed. It's the ultimate treasure hunt movie whose impressive stunts, catchy soundtrack and smart ideas makes it stylish. Indiana Jones, a professor, is given the task of recovering a hidden artifact: The Lost Ark. He races with the Nazis to recover the artifact, accompanied by of course a lovely lady. Steven Spielberg does a wonderful job with the direction. John Williams' Soundtrack fits with the movie perfectly and defines the hero accurately. You will be left impressed with the film-making tools of 1980s and it is hard to believe that so much could be achieved without CG I. Indiana Jones's whip too is a unique symbol which reflects his adventurous hobby of treasure hunting. Another cool thing is that Indiana always "plans as he goes". For Example: In one scene you see him climbing on a submarine and then he scratches his head going like "OK, what next?". He is a character you will fall in love with. Harrison Ford is impressive. Truly an ultimate "cool" movie. Highly recommended.

    2.Fight Club, 1999

This movie is highly comical where Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) amuses the audience with witty situations and questions. The narrator, Edward Norton, teams up with Tyler creating "Fight Club" to help vent male aggression. In this black drama, Brad Pitt very successfully brings alive a cool character who is not worried about anything and he is most impossible person. The movie is stylish and fast. The last 30 minutes are shocking. Fight Club is highly entertaining and it's "cool" factor is unbeatable. (Except by the movie at number 1). David Fincher does a terrific job as this was a very tough story to direct. A must have in your collection.

1.The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, 1966

Your guess was correct. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is the coolest movie I have ever seen. I don't think any other movie comes closer to this one in the cool factor. Sergio Leone's story and direction is superb and makes Blondie i.e. The Good more cooler. The Bad and The Ugly are not left alone. These three have been given the most memorable dialogues and their style easily explains their nicknames. Ennino Marricone does half the magic with his stunning score that everyone must have heard once in their lives even if they didn't know the film. The movie is madly famous for it's one liners like: "If you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk". But the film just doesn't concentrate on the cool factor, it also concentrates on the environment of the Civil War, in the middle of which it takes place, very perfectly and gives the feeling of realism. The last scene is where you get to see the real coolness. It is at this point when all the elements meet together and create the best Western ever and what you call "Once in a lifetime movie". Don't miss this. Watch it before you die...
