Argh.
Well, I've kind of been ignoring this journal for a while... I have another journal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/yeroc7890, if you're interested and/or female) that I really devote a lot of attention to. (I steal my LJ pics from here, okay? I'll confess.) But now that it's summer, I guess I can update here, too. A movie log, or something. In short: PITCH BLACK: Badass. ELEPHANT: Infuriating. CLUB DREAD: I-really-liked-SUPER-TROOPERS-so-this-one-disappointed-me (If it's hyphenated, it counts as one word.) That's it for now. Cheers. |

This is my first journal entry in about two years, I think.

The Mother: :fresh:, but barely: characters act in strange, unjustified ways, most are poorly written, but this is anchored by a great performance by Anne Reid...
Raising Helen: Offensively god-awful. I saw it because it was free, nothing more. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra: a one-joke film that goes on a little too long. Would have made a great short film, but it's just another homage throwback film in a year full of them (some better than others, most better than this one). Saved!: Better than I thought I'd be, anyway. Like Mean Girls, but they say "Jesus" more. Not as scathing (or original) as many had said. Fahrenheit 9/11: Remarkable piece of rhetoric, in spite of where you stand on the issues. It's a very well-made film--Moore is convincing, though he's pretty much preaching to the choir.
