There are three versions of this film that I wold highly recommend. The 1917 Silent film with added Music, The 1937 Short subject film (Won Academy Award for Best Short Subject) and The one I remember is the made for TV version starring Cliff Robertson in 1973. The later may have less production value than the others however, this story and its subject matter is so powerful that it any version should be considered a must see (or read the book) for anyone. Young people especially have not had
