Thinking Like a Servant
"God is always more interested in why we do something than in what we do"
Its important for me to do things for God's glory and not for my own. My motives are important and I hope that I can serve my friends, family, and community because I love them and want to, not because I feel obligated to.
"It is not our job to evaluate the Master's other servants"
I often struggle with this and it reminds me of the story of the sons (son mistreats father but gets the fatted calf when he returns, loyal son is bitter). Sometimes, I compare myself to other believers who I feel may be straying consistently, living for themselves, etc and wonder why God gives them the same reward of eternity for their faith. But, I need to remember, that God is always there for me when I need Him. It is indeed a celebration when somebody renews their faith and relationship with God.
