I originally wasn't interested in this, but have been since its positive raves. The lack of accuracy for dramatic purposes is a letdown. Apparently Hollywood find true stories not to be dramatic enough (Titanic) to make a whole a film about. Compare to other sport films this one does to have more of a personality. Not solely using racing as the main event with other things occurring. Good review!

Thanks. I only saw it because I heard it was good and I saw it for free. It is enjoyable though but not particularly memorable. I have suspicions that there has been some dramatic licence, but it could all be true for all I know. To coin an overused phrase, truth is stranger than fiction.

Excellent racing movies are few and far between. At least it looks like this one tried and succeeded somewhat. I like the talent here, Chris Hemsworth appears to really be on the upswing. Fantastic review!

Thanks. Yes it did succeed and both Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl make it worth watching.

I like Ron Howard, acting wise, but have never truly watched his films (though I watched a little bit of Apollo 13 on a bus ride one time). This film sounds pretty decent, despite the little flaws you mentioned. Any other recommendations? Thumbs up for your points.

Tnanks. Apart from the aforementioned Apollo 13, try Parenthood, Backdraft, The Paper, Frost/Nixon and I've always had a gen for Cocoon as well.
