The CGI crew finally achieved watchable results in the Spidey-swings-between-buildings sequences, the technical high point of this installment in the Spider-Man franchise. It pains me to say this, but the 3D results were disappointing despite the fact that the film was shot with a new kind of 3D camera technology from 3ality designed to improve ease of shooting and quality of results. The effect was so subtle, I had to keep reminding myself I was watching in 3D. I recommend skipping the 3D version and the hefty ticket premium that goes with it. Stan Lee has his best cameo yet, as an out-of-it librarian. A theme of the film that resonated for me was that Spider-Man has limits and can accomplish his heroic feats only with the help of others.

Completely agree about the 3D, luckily for me, I frequent a cinema where it doesn't cost extra. Also, while Stan Lee's cameo is extremely funny in this, I would argue that his best was in Avengers.
