I really like your lists.

I correctly predicted the winners in 20 out of 21 categories (95%), or 21 out of 24 if you include the short films for which I made no "official" predictions. This is a record for me. Looking back on my final Oscar blog from last season (February 25, 2008), I predicted Heath Ledger's win for Supporting Actor and Wall-E's win for Animated Feature a whole year in advance. I'm a friggin psychic. Here's the proof, per this year's Oscar winners:

* I predicted correctly
x I predicted incorrectly
--I didn't predict anything

Best Picture:

* Best Picture: Slumdog Millionaire
* Best Actor: Sean Penn (Milk)
* Best Actress: Kate Winslet (The Reader)
* Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)
* Best Supporting Actress: Penelope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona)
* Best Director: Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire)
* Best Adapted Screenplay: Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire)
* Best Original Screenplay: Dustin Lance Black (Milk)
* Best Cinematography: Slumdog Millionaire
* Best Film Editing: Slumdog Millionaire
* Best Art Direction: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
* Best Sound Mixing: Slumdog Millionaire
* Best Sound Editing: The Dark Knight
* Best Costume Design: The Duchess
* Best Original Score: Slumdog Millionaire
* Best Original Song: ?Jai-Ho? (Slumdog Millionaire)
x Best Foreign Language Film: Waltz with Bashir
* Best Documentary Feature: Man on Wire
* Best Animated Feature: Wall-E
* Best Visual Effects: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
* Best Makeup: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
--Best Live Action Short: Spielzeugland
--Best Animated Short: La Maison en Petits Cubes
--Best Documentary Short: Smile Pinki

Looking ahead to next year's contenders, watch out for Lincoln, Nine, The Lovely Bones, Public Enemies, Avatar, The Human Factor, The Tree of Life, Up, and possibly The Road and The Soloist. I also fully expect to see This Side of the Truth show up in original screenplay.
