hello

theSwitchbladeSister

Haha, thanks for the offer but the moment has passed. Yes, I did have red on me -- though no one over here was inclined to point that out to me as I had hoped. I also took the time to copy down the nametag from "Foree Electrics", etc. Haha. I went for post-zombie killing Shaun, so a lot of people just thought I was some kind of murderer, I think...

I was Velma last year! I had a lot of fun. Tell me how your costume comes out. :3

i noticed your a fan of simon pegg, if you haven't already you should really check out spaced, it is without a doubt the best british tv series of the 90's!!!!!!!

angrysquiral
a f 6 years ago

i noticed ;) still kinda hoping sam and bruce come back to do #4

theSwitchbladeSister

Maybe it's cos I'm head over heals for both Simon and Stephen, but I LOVE the "The swan is loose again" bit.. Stephen Merchant = <3.

Sidenote: I'm dressing up as Shauna of the Dead for Halloween. Being in the states, I can't find a cricket mallet to save my life, but I'm going to have to go without.

CUinTheWinchester
kim kim 6 years ago

I really enjoyed stardust too - and for some reason I hadn't expected to! I thought DeNiro was awesome - playing against type. Plus it was really groovy spotting the british comedy talent in the smaller roles - mark heap, adam buxton etc. If only you could stop ricky gervais talking in real life too. :-)

theSwitchbladeSister

BTW: I see that you've finally watched Hot Fuzz. :D Spectacular, yes?

theSwitchbladeSister

Haha, I've done a lot worse than Hostel II, happy to say. I'm not old enough to get into Saw IV in the cinema just yet (unless I feel like sneaking in, but I'm not that enthralled about it so I'm just going to wait). I dug the first two Saws, the third was pretty dry and I dunno what's goin' on with IV. I am a gorehound, but I don't know if the ~*~spectacular effects~*~ etc everyone raves about in the torture sequences are good enough to stand on their own and forget what the rest of the story is going to be like (I'm assuming not that great -- it's going to be hard to win me back post-3.)

Oh well, I'm rambling. I'll see it when it comes to video, I don't doubt that much. I'm just as crazed about the series as the majority of my peers seem to be, haha.

GeneralNobody
Jehy T 6 years ago

Oooo, and I do love Robert DeNiro!

theSwitchbladeSister

I'll have to look into it.. I was intrigued by the snippits of Gervais in the trailer, didn't know if the film was going to be any good itself, though.

theSwitchbladeSister

Go for it! :D I have to concur with the pirate thing.. I was in a costume contest last year and there were pirates a'plenty. (Screw the lot of 'em -- I won. Haha. Velma for the win.) I'm very much over the entire pirate phenomenon. Still need to see the third one though.. I'm more enamored with Mackenzie Crook than Johnny Depp in those films. Loves me some awkward skinny fellas. You a fan of the flickiwicks?

theSwitchbladeSister

Yeah, I heard that on the Ricky Gervais podcast. Him talking about being quite bewildered coming to New York around October, haha.
I think it's my favorite holiday -- a date in which nothing is more suitable than gorging yourself on horror films? In a ridiculous costume? Perfect.

theSwitchbladeSister

That's a brilliant idea! I might steal the Forrester idea for Halloween -- granted, I shouldn't be going out trick or treating (going on 17 in January, myself) but I do it for UNICEF, so, nyah. It'd be easier than dressing up as Tom Servo, at least. Haha.

Yes, I have! I was shown that flick two years ago freshman year in World History. Which was a terrible idea, as half the room was in tears. Such a moving picture D: If I could remember how to say Princess in Italian, I would utilize that to quote the flick xD -can't-

theSwitchbladeSister

Yeah, I can see what you mean with Trace. Besides Forrester, his voice work is also enough to warrant a crush. Haha. Must admit, most of my love is for both of the fellas in jump suits :P

Marooned in space with that lot wouldn't be so bad! A-ha..

theSwitchbladeSister

Aaaah thank you! Up till now I've been oblivious to the Ask Mike thing.. I'm subscribing as I type :D Even if it isn't the best thing in the world, I can't get enough of the guy.. not afraid to admit a crush for the blue be-jumpsuited fella.

And that sounds fantastic. I'll be sure to mooch off of you when those layouts come around, haha.

theSwitchbladeSister

Ohh, that'd be phenomenal! As much as I love my MST3K layout some character-specific ones would be groovy.

Have you heard about The Film Crew's new projects? I think all four of their debut DVDs are out now. Mike, Kevin, and Bill in a room making fun of.. more movies! I've yet to pick 'em up myself, but they look groovy.

theSwitchbladeSister

I see that you've taken in "Time Chasers", eh? Terrible movie -- fantastic riffing. Haha.
"Sorry I had to kill ya Gary, nothin' personal."
One of my favorite Mike ones.

Btw, I love your flixster layout. Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor = <3

Aaah ok fair enough! live in north london myself (finchley central to be more precise), just watched a film called "the last seduction", haven't seen one this good in quite a while so see it! (if you haven't already) and tell me what you think.

theSwitchbladeSister

I reaaaaaally wanna see Spaced. Being stuck in the states with a lousy net connection, I don't have much access to groovy shows like that. I'm dying to see Spaced and Extras atm.

Good to know! I'll have to add those to my MST3K list. I actually had to request that Mitchell be added to flixster -- the audacity of it not being on here in the first place, eh?

theSwitchbladeSister

I'm a big "Mitchell" fan for Joel, but "Pod People" is also one of my favorites, mostly due to the wonderful Elephant Man impersonation Trace does as Crow.
As far as Mike goes, "Prince of Space" is up there among my favorites, but so is "Time Chasers".

I can't choose between hosts to save my life. If you haven't already, Mike's solo stuff is TOTALLY worth checking out. His books, as well as the DVD releases he's done riffing on some classic movies via a commentary track.

Shaun of the Dead owns my soul, haha. I absolutely adore Simon Pegg.

theSwitchbladeSister

Can't blame you, there. MST3K'll do that to ya.

So then, the requisite question: favorite MST3K experiment you've seen thusfar?

CUinTheWinchester
kim kim 7 years ago

That's ok then! haha. Can't beat a bit of sexy time lord! haha. Did you see him in Casanova? Phew, that's what did it for me.

I liked Torchwood but it may have helped that I quite like oggling John Barrowman - I know I know, barking up the wrong tree there! lol.

CUinTheWinchester
kim kim 7 years ago

I LOVE empire - I do that all the time! Have way too many posters. Have you seen the pics of McAvoy in 'Atonement' or 'Penelope'? That boy just gets fitter and fitter.

I DID watch Doctor Who *sob*. I half wanted him to be able to stay as John Smith and marry Jess. Maybe when the face of bo said 'you are not alone' he could've been talking about Jess's unborn child? That's pushing it a bit tho - in fact, just ignore everything i just said! lol. I did quite enjoy the bit near the end "you shouldn't have let me push all these buttons". hehe. He can push my buttons any day...is it weird to have a tiny crush on the time lord? Can't wait for the John Barrowman episodes.

What did you think of Torchwood?

CUinTheWinchester
kim kim 7 years ago

Haha. How yummy is James McAvoy. I swear i nearly bought 'children of dune' the other day but then I snapped out of it and realised 20 is too much to pay to feed my McAvoy cravings...especially if it means having to watch susan sarandon!

Spaced IS indeed the best programme ever! haha. you're my new favourite. lol.

theSwitchbladeSister

Ahh, I see. Yeah, Youtube's good for that sort of thing.

Also, check this out: http://www.tv-links.co.uk They have some MST3K on there. I haven't checked it out personally because my computers a bit dodgy, but it's a pretty groovy site.

theSwitchbladeSister

Haha, insist that your lecturer wear a beret.

Unfortunately, no, I haven't. D: Being a bit younger, when I was into MST3K as a kid it was cause the silly movies and puppets more than the dialogue, and when I mature and appreciate the show it goes off the air. So, my memories of the show on air are vague.. the extent of my knowledge now are the DVD releases.

hello how are u my with u msn chat me my msn adress bnxx19@hotmail.com addet me thanks waiting u msn ok

theSwitchbladeSister

I am insanely jealous of that dream!

Jamie is groovy, not many men can rock a beret/walrus 'stach combo like him. But, I've always had my nerdy heart set on Adam. And to have him in the Overlook? Jack Torrance wasn't there, was he?

Talk about a party.

theSwitchbladeSister

Haha, I'm glad our "M" "Y" interests are so common!

I thought I recognized that icon. :D I'm probably far too obessed with that show -- Adam Savage in particular. (A bizarre crush, admittedly, but whatever.)

And yes! Jason Lee is one of my all-time favorite actors. Ever since I saw him in Mallrats.

And of course MST3K and Monty Python.

theSwitchbladeSister

Must say I love your movies and actors selection. :3

And of course, the entire MST3K theme.

Praytell, that icon wouldn't be of Mythbusters origin, would it?

Yes, personally I prefer Holy Grail - as you say there's some silly stuff in there. I think much of it paved the way for LOB and it's kind of the fogotten cousin. It's certainly one of my fav films even after 30 years since first seeing it! It was doing the rounds with Blazing Saddles, another classic, and I saw them 3 times in one week! I take it you have the MP&THG DVD - I think the Lego clip is brilliant, wouldn't mind seeing the whole thing in Lego for a laugh. If you don't have it let me know and I'll get one to you. By the way, I'm also on MySpace as jazzyd739 - check out my video if you have a spare 30 seconds!! :)

Scorsessesesesedeesese, your knkow who i mean, The books
in all good book stores, although never had a reason to

Your lecturers called Leighton? One's called Laurie, and
one's called Lincoln. And dear God they're both obsessed
with Westerns. I hate them, I think they're really
boring. What units are you doing? I'm doing Cinema and
nation, Film form and narrative, Introduction to film
theory and an English one looking at narrative

meandjd
Jade Scott-Jones 8 years ago

lol, no steve is stevey j from film at uni. Cool guy very
funny, keeps me awake in lessons. No affence to Guy but
he has to listen in lessons i need someone to talk to,
dark rooms make me want to sleep. Anyway Stevey j is a
big westerns movie fan. Just like our lecturer, Good Ol'
Leighton.
