Hello. I am married. I am fat. I am in college. I like to draw. Obviously I like movies.

I do NOT give out my msn, my e-mail, or any of that. Please don't ask me. I only want to chat here on Flixster. I am here for the movies and talking to movie fans! I don't want to message you elsewhere if I don't even know you! (Not that I mind making friends here that I can chat with elsewhere but that isn't why I am here and unless I get to know you well enough I am not giving you that info.)

I love a lot of different kinds of movies! I love classic movies, good movies, animated movies, science fiction movies, weird movies, foreign movies, movies that mess with your mind, movies that are strange and shocking, independent movies, artsy-fartsy movies, crappy old horror movies, etc. My tastes can be all over the place.
It might be easier to list the kinds of movies I don't like. So far the kinds I can think of that I don't tend to be as fond of are these:
Chick Flicks - Of course some movies considered chick flicks are great but usually I don't tend to enjoy sappy romantic movies. They just make my stomach churn. I have no problem with romance but I think it is all the stupid cliche stuff that bugs me about them.
teen horror - I dunno how to label this exactly but horror movies are kind of iffy. I love certain horror movies and I don't necessarily have a problem with violence and gore but I don't exactly love being scared. And, again, I think it is the cliche thing too. Generally I regard modern horror films as crap. Of course there are plenty of exceptions out there.
"low brow" comedy - This is sort of the best label I can think of for this. And it is a pretentious sounding label, I know. I am not above laughing at certain things at all but I like at least a little bit of wit in my comedy. Obviously it is subjective but there are just certain kinds of things I don't like. Poop jokes, fart jokes...that kind of stuff. Gross out humor. It can work but it usually doesn't work. I try to avoid it.
sports movies - I am not a big sports fan in general so I guess it makes sense that I wouldn't love sports movies. they can be fine but I guess it is sort of one of those "you've seen one, you've seen them all" kinds of things. They are almost always the same type of thing. Overcome adversity! push through the pain! the worst team learns to believe in themselves and become the best. This can be nice every now and then but I just can't watch these things too often. It just isn't my thing.
