What if Kevin McCallister grew up and became a serial killing fan of Jigsaw? You'd get this far-fetched mash-up of "Home Alone" and "Saw".
This wasn't horrible and had a bit of suspense to it, but it was hard to suspend any disbelief due to the sheer number of traps that were set up in the house over what couldn't have been more than a few hours. Plus one big, gaping plot contrivance that - unless I totally missed something - would've made it impossible for what happened to have happened.

Guy gets stuck for 127 hours. Sounds like a setup for a pretty boring movie. But Danny Boyle and James Franco deliver the exact opposite.
