yes 4.5 stars for rent. you forget that i love musicals. i think that it did an excellent job of capturing the original stage version. yes, cinematically, it could have been better, but it was still pretty good.
I must say that this film barely follows the comic but that is something to be expected from DC. Also I am not a big fan of politics in films but this was done very intelligently. The original story was modernized into the possible future of our current world and I must say it is a little scarey. And finally screw all the people that said this was a pro terrorist film because it is not. Anyone with freewill is a terrorist in a facsist society.
I found this movie to very slow and have a plot that really goes nowhere. Plus the dialogue is crap "what does this have to do with the tea in China?" Has Michael Mann not heard of a steady cam or a film that isn't grainy at night? Anyway, it gets 2 stars solely for the really bloody graphic violence, what little there was.
